IV15700 DATA IS TOO LONG TO FIT INTO THE FIELD OF A TLMA DATABASE TABLE Some software scans return product names that are longer then the current length of the PACKAGE_NAME column of the ADM.NATIVE_SW table (64 characters). It causes that exceptions are generated during the upload of the software scan and causes in the inability of the agent to upload the results of the software scan. IV21102  IMPORT OF THE HARDWARE SCAN RESULTS FROM HP-UX FAILS WHEN ALL VIRTUAL MACHINES ARE IN OFF STATE No specific error message is displayed in com.ibm.license.mgmt.core.blaction.hwscan.HpHwScan.getVmLayers to explain what blocks the import of the hardware scan results when all virtual machines are in the OFF state. IV22830 LICENSE METRIC TOOL DOES NOT CORRECTLY DETECT OR CHARGE FOR SOFTWARE THAT IS INSTALLED ON NETWORK FILE SYSTEMS Software that is installed on Network File Systems (NFS) is incorrectly detected when non-file signatures are used. IV24741 AIX® LICENSE METRIC TOOL AGENT IS SLOW TO RESPOND TO COMMAND-LINE INTERFACE COMMANDS Agents respond slowly to the command-line interface commands. After installing the License Metric Tool agent for AIX® PPC version 7.5 on an AIX server (both AIX 6.1 and AIX 7.1), the command-line interface commands take about 40 seconds to respond. interim fix 2
IV08560 NEW CERTIFICATE IS NOT SENT TO AN AGENT IF THE AGENT HAS NO DEFAULT CERTIFICATE SPECIFIED IN KEY.KDB New certificate is not sent to an agent during its self-update if the agent does not have a default certificate specified in its local keystore. interim fix 2

IV24201 LICENSE METRIC TOOL HAS PROBLEMS WITH MATCHING THE LOCAL ZONE WITH THE GLOBAL ZONE The problem occurs when the serial number that is reported by eeprom/SMBIOS on a global zone differs from the hardware serial number that is reported by sysinfo(SI_HW_SERIAL). IV09747 LAST MODIFICATION DATE USED BY THE CATALOG IMPORT IS INCORRECT Synchronization of the catalog versions between License Metric Tool and Software Knowledge Base Toolkit uses a wrong catalog attribute. IV20639 AUTHENTICATION/SECURITY VULNERABILITY. IMPROVING SECURITY VULNERABILITY. The application uses basic authentication for web-based authentication. The credentials are sent in the authorization header and are encrypted by the Base64 algorithm. The use of this method might lead to a false sense of security as Base64 can be easily decoded by any Base64 decoder. Web browsers typically cache basic authentication. interim fix 1
IV20562 THE UPLOAD FUNCTION DOES NOT VALIDATE THE INPUTTED DATA The upload function can allow uploading malicious content scripts without any restrictions. If such a file is uploaded, it is possible for the malicious code to be executed. interim fix 1

IV20309 PROCESSOR IS NOT CORRECTLY MATCHED BY X86 MATCHER Some processors are not correctly matched by the x86 matcher. The problem is probably because the processor name contains the space sign, hyphen, or a national language character. IV08065 AIX AGENT ARE RELOCATED TO /OPT AND /VAR DIRECTORIES With Fix Pack 1 for License Metric Tool 7.2.2 an agent installer for AIX platform was reworked so that it now supports the file set relocation mechanism. As a consequence, when upgrading the older release of AIX agent to 7.2.2 Fix Pack 1, agent files are moved to /opt/itlm and /var/itlm directories, regardless of the initial installation path. interim fix 3
IV24091 THOUSANDS OF AGENTS ARE IN THE CLOSE_WAIT STATE The problem occurs when the server is overloaded with scan uploads. It originally occurred in an environment with 26000 agents. When the server is overloaded, the number of connections to the agent port on the side of the server skyrockets:
  • the number of connections in the ESTABLISHED state is limited on WebSphere®
  • the number of connections in the TIME_WAIT state is not the concern
  • the number of connections in the CLOSE_WAIT state that appear on the side of the server (for example, netstat) must be limited. In the original case, 8000 of such connections were observed.

IV23626 UNABLE TO UPGRADE AN AGENT THAT WAS INSTALLED WITH THE -R /VAR/ITLM OPTION DEFINED TO VERSION 7.5 An unsupported upgrade scenario was detected for an agent that is newer than 7.2.2.0 and was installed with the -R /var/itlm option defined. IV27978 UPGRADE OF AN AGENT FROM VERSION 7.5.0.1 TO 7.5.0.2/7.5.0.3 FAILS Because of a defect in the agent installer, the following upgrading scenarios fail:
  • 7.2.2 FP2 > 7.5.0.1 > 7.5.0.2/3
  • 7.5.0.0 > 7.5.0.1 > 7.5.0.2/3

13673 Recovering from overload - Semaphore on uploads This change introduces a semaphore into the communication between agents and the server. The semaphore limits the concurrency of software and hardware uploads and thus reduces the risk of running into lock timeouts on the database.
