This package includes the following fix:

This fix addresses a problem that occurs when the console data backup is used to restore an 
HMC to its previous state (Task: Backup HMC data). This fix is only needed for the HMC V7 R340 base code (MH01147). 
This fix is not needed for any HMC V7 R340 service packs or iFixes because the problem is in the recovery DVD media.

Note

If you experience an HMC problem that requires a reload of the HMC and you have a CCD (Critical Console Data) 
backup on the DVD-RAM media or USB Flash media, you can safely restore your data by using the following procedure.

   1. Reinstall the HMC by using the V7 R340 recovery DVD. The DVD-RAM/USB Key with the CCD data should not be inserted into the HMC.
   2. Complete the installation, but without selecting the Restore option.
   3. Apply PTF MH01190. Do not apply any other PTF's or service packs.
   4. Reboot the HMC.
   5. Select the DVD Restore option from the GUI (Task: Restore HMC Data). Selecting this task sets a property that tells the HMC to prompt for the recovery DVD at boot.
   6. Insert the DVD or USB Flash Drive that contains the backup data into the HMC, and then reboot the HMC.
   7. Answer the prompt to restore the data.
