PTF MH01237
HMC V7R7.1.0 Service Pack 3

This package updates the HMC from HMC V7.R7.1.0 Service Pack 0 or later to HMC V7.R7.1.0 Service Pack 3. You can also reference this package by APAR MB03383.

Before you can install PTF MH01237, you must have already installed one of the following:

    * MH01205, the HMC V7R7.1.0 Recovery image, with or without Service Packs.
    * MH01206, the HMC V7R7.1.0 Update image, with or without Service Packs.

List of fixes

This package includes the following fixes and enhancements:
General

    * Fixed a problem where clicking the link of a reference code for a POWER5-based server can result in the following errror message: ACT04292 "There is no additional descriptive text available".
    * Fixed the pedbg command so that existing screen captures are collected.
    * Added a subtree search option to the chhmcldap command-line command. The default search scope remains one level.

Repair and Verify

    * Fixed a problem where performing a Battery exchange on a 9117-MMB system results in a warning panel display the following exception: "The identify LED indicator was not activated."
    * Fixed a prolem where R&V operations on supported I/O enclosures for a 8234-EMA system failed because the enclosure shows as unsupported.
    * Fixed a problem where some isolate and symbolic repair procedures for model 9119-FHB (POWER7-based) servers incorrectly linked to the procedure for POWER6-based servers in the Systems Information Center.
    * Fixed the BPC service action on the IBM Power 795 to direct you to isolate and symboloc repair procedures in the Information Center for POWER7-based servers.

Additional information
Notes:

    * The Install Corrective Service task now allows you to install corrective service updates from the ISO image files for these updates. You can download these ISO image files for the HMC, and then use the ISO image file to install the corrective service update. You no longer need to burn CD-R or DVD-R media to use the ISO image file to install corrective service.
    * The ISO image requires DVD-R media (should you choose to burn the image to media).
    * To install the updates over the network, select the .iso file on the Select Service Package panel of the Install Corrective Service task. The HMC application extracts the files needed to install the corrective service. If you use USB flash media to install updates, copy the *.iso file to the flash media, and then select the file when prompted.
    * The updhmc command line command has also been modified to use the *.iso file to install corrective service. Follow the syntax in this example:
      updhmc -t s -h <myservername> -f </home/updates/corrrective_service.iso> -u <HMC_username> -i
