This package includes fixes for HMC Version 7 Release 7.4.0. You can also reference this package by APAR MB03607. This image must be installed on top of HMC Version 7 Release 7.4.0 Recovery installation (MH01273) or Update installation (MH01274) or HMC V7 Release 7.4.0 SP1 (MH01297), with or without efixes.

General

• Fixed the Add Instrall Resource panel under the Manage Install Resources task so that the pull down for VIOS levels includes the 2.2.1.1 level and the pull down for AIX includes the 7.1 level.
• Fixed a problem where the view system plan task was missing the CEC image for the following models: 8202-E4C, 8205-E6C, 8231-E1C, 8231-E2C, 9117-MMC, 9179-MHC
• Fixed a problem where installios may appear to hang even though the install completed successfully.
• Fixed a problem where a user was unable to login to ASMI with the correct user and password.
• Fixed an issue where role for a user may be logged incorrectly after a role change.
• Fixed an issue where a user cannot use the GUI to remove a LHEA port associated with a nonfunctional HEA.
• Fixed an issue with partition suspend for firmware release levels Ax730 and lower.

• Fixed a problem where inactive partition migration operations fail with error HSCLA24C when the target server has no running MSP defined.
• Fixed an issue with Create system plan (mksysplan) where System Units are improperly reported as expansion units on model 9179-MHC and 9117-MMC systems.
• Fixed a problem where using the updlic CLI with the specific level option, -l <specific level>, fails.
• Fixed a problem where a NullPointerException can occur during the connection process to a managed system.
• Fixed a problem where the rmprofdata command does not remove all of the backup profile data files.
• Prevented error HSCL058A from occurring during the activation of an AMS partition when redundant paging devices are configured.
• Enhanced chhwres command to allow removing processing from shutdown partitions when the current processing of the shutdown partition is below minimum.
• Fixed an issue where the override options do not function correctly in the GUI Resume task.
• Fixed a problem where the dump option is not enabled in the GUI partition restart task.

Repair and Verify

• Fixed a problem where R&V procedures involving the system enclosure may fail for server models E1C, E2C, E3C and E4C.
• Fixed an incorrect instruction for concurrent maintenance for BPR FRUs on 9125-F2C.
• Fixed extra instruction for installing PUBooks on POWER6 9119-FHA.
• Fixed the error message handling for SCM/DIMM/TPMD repair on 9119-FHB.
• Moved "Open door" panel to precede the "PBCommonConfirmLED" panel.
• Fixed an incorrect instruction for verifying cables of BPD FRUs on 9125-F2C.
• Corrected a problem with a FRU Exchange/Add/Remove for PCI Adapter Card on 8231-E2C where the procedure ends with an exception stating:
  com.ibm.sfp.p.service.cec.juno.classes.HV162UPCICard incompatible with
  com.ibm.sfp.p.service.cec.juno.classes.HV162UGXCard.
• Corrected a problem where Repair of a Serviceable Event leads to the wrong Serviceable Event/Problem being Repaired. This issue only occurs when there are two Open Serviceable Events with the same problem number.
• Fixed issue with missing graphics on some service panels when a service action is performed on Power 5 systems.
• Corrected two graphic images for SCM Exchange FRU on 9179-MHC systems.
• Fixed issue where the delay service action is not honored when a bulk power component is being serviced.
• Updated the instructions for BPR, BPF and BPD FRUs on 9125-F2C.
• Added Add Disk Enclosure MES WCII support for 9125-F2C.
• Added support for MES WCII PCI for 9125-F2C systems.

Security issues

• The applets provided by the management console are now being signed by a valid code signing certificate, to ensure that the applets meet the web browser security requirements.
• Security fix for HMC webserver (port 443).

Upgrading or restoring HMC Version 7

Notes:

1. To burn the ISO image to media, you must use DVD-R media
2. The HMC Install Corrective Service task has been modified to allow corrective service installation by using the .iso packaging of the corrective service files that you can download from IBM. There is no requirement to burn CD-R or DVD-R media to use these files to install the corrective service.
   • To install the updates over the network, select the .iso file in the Select Service Package panel of the Install Corrective Service utility.
   • To use USB flash media to install updates, copy the .iso file to the flash media, and then select the file when prompted.
3. The updhmc command line command has also been modified to use the .iso file for installing corrective service updates. To use the command, follow the syntax in this example:
   updhmc -t s -h <myservername> -f </home/updates/corrrective_service.iso> -u <HMC_username> -i

In all cases, the HMC application extracts the files needed to install the corrective service.
