This package includes fixes for HMC Version 7 Release 7.6.0. You can reference this package by APAR MB03651. This image can be installed on top of HMC Version 7 Release 7.6.0 Recovery installation (MH01326) or Update installation (MH01327) with or without efixes.

This package provides the following fixes and new function:

General

• Fixed a problem that causes serviceable events E22F0200 and E3D4310A to be reported.
• Fixed a problem where RMC component IBM.LparCmdRM can terminate abnormally when a VIOS error causes unexpected data to be returned.
• Fixed problems that can result in a recovery state.
• Fixed an issue with restore/recover operations not closing vterm socket. Over time the issue could lead to "too many files are opened" errors.
• Fixed capability checking for dynamic platform optimization to include checking for the DPO license and the capability setting.
• Fixed an issue where a HMC-created system plan showed memory details of the incorrect profile in the summary table. The summary table now shows the default profile.
• Fixed a cimprovagt crash, kpasswd usage, keyboard issues with ibm319 and ibm413.
• Fixed an issue where the refdev command incorrectly returns a HSCLA9D7 when the CEC is in Power Off state.
• Fixed an issue where a HMC backup created with the command bkconsdata ?x netcfg does not restore correctly; one or more network interfaces may be missing.
• Fixed an issue where activation of Shared Memory partitions failed with HSCLA499 when connected with a paging VIOS partition that does not support the remote restart feature.
• Fixed an issue with adding a task role that contains any DBCS or special characters.
• Fixed an issue where shutdown of a VIOS with depending remote restartable partitions failed with HSCL11CD even though all other partitions are currently in a not activated state.
• Fixed an intermittent issue where a ldap user profile may be corrupted.
• Fixed an intermittent issue where async event processing may fail to update I/O slot information on a dual HMC.
• Fixed issue of certain panels not loading translated content.
• Fixed issue with setting the processor compatibility mode from the HMC GUI.
• Fixed issue with using UK Keyboard.
• Fixed issue with the HMC System Planar replacement operation invalidating the network configuration.
• Fixed issue with displaying man page information in non-English locales.
• Fixed issue with incorrect mapping for special characters in Belgium keyboard after HMC upgrade.
• Fixed issue creating nested custom groups.
• Fixed RMC issue where no new connections could be made to IBM i partitions and new connections intermittently might fail to AIX/VIOS partitions.
• Changed default locale for several languages to use UTF-8.
• Added support for the Remote Restart RPQ P91276.

Repair and Verify

• Fixed a problem where a hardware problem on the BPA on the side being repaired prevented concurrent maintenance of other frus. Concurrent repair can now continue for FRUs on bad side.
• Fixed issue with honoring latest concurrent choice for firmware update when newer disruptive update is available.
• Fixed R&V issue with the incorrect handling of "delay" while exchanging BPC to BPC communication cable.
• Fixed missing R&V instructions to handle a situation where the BPC GOOD light did not turn off after FRU level deactivation.
• Fixed issue with performing R&V exchange of the primary "FSP CARD" FRU on model 9117 systems non-concurrently.
• Fixed graphics image for RAID Battery Exchange/Repair FRU serviceable event for 9117-MMx and 9179-MMx system types.
• Fixed a problem where concurrent maintenance of a DCA did not handle low power mode failures.
• Fixed R&V procedure for Exchanging "BPR to IBF Cable" FRU on POWER6 and POWER7 9119 to show the correct side of the IBF for rear side FRU.
• Fixed issue with External Cable Exchange operations displaying incorrect images for multiple 82xx-ExC and 82xx-ExD servers.

Security

• Fixed issue with Kerberos user with expired password still able to access HMC.

Notes:

1. To burn the ISO image to media, you must use DVD-R media
2. The HMC Install Corrective Service task has been modified to allow corrective service installation by using the .iso packaging of the corrective service files that you can download from IBM. There is no requirement to burn CD-R or DVD-R media to use these files to install the corrective service.
   • To install the updates over the network, select the .iso file in the Select Service Package panel of the Install Corrective Service utility.
   • To use USB flash media to install updates, copy the .iso file to the flash media, and then select the file when prompted.
3. The updhmc command line command has also been modified to use the .iso file for installing corrective service updates. To use the command, follow the syntax in this example:
   updhmc -t s -h <myservername> -f </home/updates/corrrective_service.iso> -u <HMC_username> -i

In all cases, the HMC application extracts the files needed to install the corrective service.
