This package is HMC Version 7 Release 7.7.0 Service Pack 2. You can reference this package by APAR# MB03691. This image can be installed on top of HMC Version 7 Release 7.7.0 Recovery installation (MH01343) with Mandatory eFix (MH01345) or HMC V7 Release 7.7.0 Service Pack 1 (MH01346) with or without additional PTFs installed.

This package provides the following and enhancements and new function:

• OpenSSL upgrade to version 1.0.1e.
• Added management console support for the 8268-E1E MTMS.
• Added support for an "end of service" server firmware level to block install of unsupported firmware levels for certain POWER 7 model ExC servers.

This package provides the following fixes:

General fixes

• Fixed issue with ssh logon failures not getting logged to rsyslog.
• Fixed issue with possible errors reported when setting max memory values over 8000GB.
• Updated description of I/O adapter card to "FC3172 2-port 8Gb Fibre Channel Adapter".
• Updated description of I/O adapter card to "EN4054 4-port 10Gb Ethernet Adapter".
• Fixed issue with setting the memory to zero along with the processor units, when activating a dynamic SPPL capable system.
• Fixed issue with displaying Japanese font.
• Fixed issue with accessing ASMi from local HMC due to untrusted connection.
• Fixed a problem with mapping multiple virtual switches on a migration operation.

• Fixed issue where a non-hscroot user can't activate new VIOS from GUI.
• Fixed issue with Primary PSP selection always reverting to "None" when creating a shared memory pool.
• Fixed issue where a group migration with invalid remote user/hmc credentials or without proper authentication setup fails as expected, but blocks further migrations from the same hmc.
• Fixed an issue where the Network adapters dropdown list may contain the word 'Error" as an option in VIOS install wizard.
• Fixed issue with possible LparCmdRM crash if VIOS command returns invalid data.
• Fixed issue with numeric filtering on device size in shared memory pool properties.
• Fixed issue with device selection Minimum Size filter not working properly on Reserved storage Pool page.
• Fixed several issues with pedbg.
• Fixed issue with incorrect partition identifier encountered in HSCLB600 message.

• Fixed issue with PHRU utility causing confusion when you choose GX Adapter after the DSE panel.

• Fixed security issue with SSL weak/medium cipher suites supported Port 9960.

Notes:

1. To burn the ISO image to media, you must use DVD-R media
2. The HMC Install Corrective Service task has been modified to allow corrective service installation by using the .iso packaging of the corrective service files that you can download from IBM. There is no requirement to burn CD-R or DVD-R media to use these files to install the corrective service.
   • To install the updates over the network, select the .iso file in the Select Service Package panel of the Install Corrective Service utility.
   • To use USB flash media to install updates, copy the .iso file to the flash media, and then select the file when prompted.
3. The updhmc command line command has also been modified to use the .iso file for installing corrective service updates. To use the command, follow the syntax in this example:
   updhmc -t s -h <myservername> -f </home/updates/corrrective_service.iso> -u <HMC_username> -i

In all cases, the HMC application extracts the files needed to install the corrective service.
