This package includes a fix for HMC Version 7 Release 7.7.0 Service Pack
2. You can reference this package by APAR MB03705. This fix must be
installed on top of HMC Version 7 Release 7.7.0 Service Pack 2.

    List of fixes

This package includes the following fixes:

  * Fixed an issue where some concurrent Repair and Verify I/O
    operations performed on POWER5 systems would incorrectly fail and
    report error HSCL3438 The platform does not support Concurrent
    Maintenance. Please upgrade the firmware and try the operation again.
  * Fixed an issue where changing/adding a virtual ethernet adapter when
    managing profiles can take an excessive amount of time for the panel
    to open.

    Additional information


      Notes:

 1. To burn the ISO image to media, you _must_ use DVD-R media
 2. The HMC *Install Corrective Service* task has been modified to allow
    corrective service installation by using the .iso packaging of the
    corrective service files that you can download from IBM. There is no
    requirement to burn CD-R or DVD-R media to use these files to
    install the corrective service.

      * To install the updates over the network, select the .iso file in
        the *Select Service Package* panel of the *Install Corrective
        Service* utility.
      * To use USB flash media to install updates, copy the .iso file to
        the flash media, and then select the file when prompted.
 3. The *updhmc* command line command has also been modified to use the
    .iso file for installing corrective service updates. To use the
    command, follow the syntax in this example:
    updhmc -t s -h <myservername> -f
    </home/updates/corrrective_service.iso> -u <HMC_username> -i

In all cases, the HMC application extracts the files needed to install
the corrective service.
