Prior to installing this PTF using the web browser graphical interface perform the following: 1. Log in again selecting the Log In option of "Classic". 2. If already logged in to the HMC using Enhanced GUI, log off the HMC. 3. Install using the normal installation instructions. Alternatively, install this PTF using the CLI updhmc command. *Known issues* * In order to restore a backup after installing 850 SP3, the 850 base installation + SP1 or later must be installed, then use the HMC Management > Restore Management Console Data task. * Launching ASM interface to a Frame, on local HMC or remotely, fails with: /Console Internal Error Details: HTTP Status Code: 408 / Back to top <#ibm-content> General fixes This package provides the following fixes: * Fixed an issue that can cause lock contention on HMCs managing partitions that have simplified remote restart (SRR) enabled and that have the Allow Migration with Inactive Source Storage VIOS server option enabled. Symptoms include errors /HSCL025A "Service processor lock failed" /attempting other tasks such as DLPAR and/HSCLA9D7 "The configuration data which is used during remote restart of the partition could not be updated."/ * Fixed a problem where the virtual switch mappings specified on a partition migration operation were not honored. This problem only occurs when the partition being migrated has two or more virtual Ethernet adapters that are using the same virtual switch on the source system but are mapped to different virtual switches on the destination system. The migration operation may complete without error, but some virtual Ethernet adapters on the destination managed system will be configured to use the wrong virtual switch. * Fixed a problem that caused the hdwr_svr process to core dump and SRC E23D040A to be called home when the HMC lost connection to a server immediately after the server finished an IPL. If this problem occurs the hdwr_svr process will restart automatically and the HMC will operate normally. * Fixed an issue that can cause the /var/ct/IBM.LparCmdRM.stdout file to keep growing, which can lead to serviceable event E212E134 and the /var filesystem becoming full. * Fixed a rare timing issue that caused SRC E332FFFF to be generated and called home. * Fixed a rare timing issue that can cause a server to transition into the Incomplete state after Power enterprise pool add or remove mobile resource operations are performed in rapid succession. * Fixed an issue that caused false reports of call home serviceable events E212E30x. * Fixed a problem where using the chsacfg command to add an email address for event notification failed with the error "/An invalid parameter value was entered. The parameter -a is empty or not valid. Please check your entry and retry the command./". This problem only occurs when the domain name in the email address starts with a number. * Fixed a problem where the HMC Management > Manage Certificate Revocation List task was not displayed on the classic GUI for custom HMC users. * Fixed an issue that caused the chhmc command to enable or disable jumbo frames to always fail. * Fixed a problem on virtual HMCs that caused all Service Management > Transmit Service Information > Send Problem Reports tasks to fail without an error but did cause SRC E3D45069 to be generated. * Fixed an issue that caused repair and verify tasks and Licensed Internal Code update tasks to always fail for a powered off server which had NovaLink set as the PowerVM management master when the server was powered off. Repair and verify tasks failed with the error "/Could not register as primary owner of server./" Licensed Internal Code update tasks were not available on the GUI, and when run from the command line failed with the errors /HSCE2124 /and "/HSCF0261E Could not start the update because this management console is not the master console. Check to see if there is another management console program attached to the target server ./" * Fixed a problem that caused a DLPAR memory operation to fail with the error "/HSCL03F9 Not enough memory resources to meet the allocation setting./" This problem only occurs if memory is being added to a partition and the new total amount of memory assigned to the partition exceeds the amount of memory currently available on the managed system. In addition, this problem only occurs when the DLPAR operation is performed using the enhanced GUI, the REST API, or the chhwres command with the -o s option. * Fixed an issue that caused the generation and call home of SRC E212E134 to report that the HMC /var file system size exceeded the threshold limit of 80%. This problem can only occur if the HMC is configured to transmit performance management information to a service provider and the HMC is managing a large number of partitions. * Fixed an issue that caused the generation of the informational SRC B7005120 for IBM i partitions running versions of IBM i earlier than V6R1. * Fixed another occurrence of the generation and call home of SRC E3D46FFF due to a scheduled change credential password task that no longer is needed. This occurred after updating the customer information on the HMC. * Fixed a problem where, on the local HMC console session, the HMC Management > Lock Management Console Screen and HMC Management > Launch Remote Hardware Management Console GUI tasks are not displayed for any HMC user except hscroot. * Fixed a problem causing a successful heartbeat transmission to include one or more unsuccessful heartbeat transmissions. This problem always occurs after a previous heartbeat transmission fails. * Fixed a problem that caused the following error to be displayed when running a repair and verify procedure against a frame component: "/Could not register as primary owner of server /" * Fixed a timing issue that can cause the generation and call home of SRC E3550715 when the HMC is restarted right after a managed system connection is removed from the HMC. * Fixed a problem preventing server dumps from being offloaded to the HMC when the server is in the Incomplete state and resource utilization data collection is enabled for the server on the HMC. * Changed the server firmware activation process to report an error when the activation of platform firmware of a partition fails due to an RMC error. Prior to this fix, the server firmware activation process appeared to finish successfully. * Fixed a problem where the HMC incorrectly called home serviceable event E3325009 when no problem should have been reported. * Fixed a rare timing issue where the command to perform a processor or memory DLPAR operation was routed to the wrong AIX or Linux partition. * Fixed an issue that can cause lock contention on HMCs when a managed VIOS or AIX partition does not reply to an HMC command. Symptoms include error "/HSCL025A Service processor lock failed/" attempting tasks such as DLPAR. With this fix, the HMC will time out the request and clear the lock to be more tolerant of partition RMC errors. * Fixed a problem preventing Performance and Capacity Monitoring (PCM) data from being displayed. Error messages may include "/The data cannot be retrieved for the selected timer interval. Please choose a different refreshing interval or wait for sometime./" This problem only occurs if there is a shared storage pool name greater than 64 characters in length. To circumvent this problem, reduce the shared storage pool name to 64 characters or less. * Fixed an issue with the enhanced GUI where IBM i partition tasks for Serviceability > Serviceability > Control Panel functions do not work. Clicking on the task has no affect and no error is returned. * Changed the enhanced GUI to display all memory values in gigabytes. Prior to this change, memory values greater than 1 terabyte were shown in terabytes in some windows. * Corrected the calculation of server level processor utilization shown on the enhanced GUI and returned by the REST API when Performance and Capacity Monitoring data collection is enabled. * Fixed an issue with the retention of call home data in the /opt/ccfw/data/vr directory to prevent call home SRC E212E136. Security Fixes * Disabled TLS 1.0 for HMC port 12443 in legacy security mode. * Removed support for all ciphers that use a Diffie-Hellman modulus of 1024 bits or less from HMC ports 9920, 9960 and 12443. This change was made to address the following vulnerability: SSL/TLS Diffie-Hellman Modulus <= 1024 Bits (Logjam). * Fixed an issue where HMC GET help call with an invalid URL returns 200 OK.
