Terminology

x86 - This term is used to reference the legacy HMC that runs on x86/Intel/AMD hardware for both the 7042 Machine Type appliances and the Virtual HMC that can run on the Intel hypervisors (KVM, VMWare, Xen).

ppc64 or ppc64le - describes the Linux code that is compiled to run on Power-based servers or LPARS (Logical Partitions)

PTF MH01754 Service Pack 2 for HMC V8 R8.7.0 - for 7042 Machine Type

This package represents a service pack image that can be used to update your HMC from HMC V8 R8.7.0 to HMC V8 R8.7.0 Service Pack 2. You can also reference this package by PTF MH01754 and APAR MB04141. This image can be installed on top of HMC Version 8 Release 8.7.0 Recovery installation PTF MH01704 with or without additional PTFs installed.

Note: Service packs are cumulative and as such will include all the fixes for the PTFs released up to and including the last service pack(s) for this HMC version. Please read the individual Readme files for each PTF to see the list of fixes.

PTF MH01755 Service Pack 2 for HMC V8 R8.7.0 - for 7063 Machine Type

This package represents a service pack image that can be used to update your HMC from HMC V8 R8.7.0 to HMC V8 R8.7.0 Service Pack 2. You can also reference this package PTF MH01755 and APAR MB04144. This image can be installed on top of HMC Version 8 Release 8.7.0 Recovery installation PTF MH01705 with or without additional PTFs installed.

Note: Service packs are cumulative and as such will include all the fixes for the PTFs released up to and including the last service pack(s) for this HMC version. Please read the individual Readme files for each PTF to see the list of fixes.

Enhancement and new function

Enhanced sendfile command support for SFTP. With this enhancement the sendfile command can now send data direct to the IBM blue diamond and ecurep secure data repositories.

Security fixes

Addressed Kerberos vulnerabilities: CVE-2017-11368 and CVE-2017-7562.
Addressed OpenSSL vulnerabilities: CVE-2017-3737 and CVE-2017-3736.
Addressed NTP vulnerabilities: CVE-2017-6464 and CVE-2017-6463.
Addressed OpenSSH vulnerabilities: CVE-2017-15906.

General fixes

Fixed an issue with the lssyscfg command which returned no value for the ppt_ratio on systems with firmware level 860 and below.
Fixed an issue with the Enhanced UI where the partition Processor Mode incorrectly displays "Uncapped" for "Capped" partitions.
Fixed the left side partition/server expand section widget where sometimes it was not clickable in an IE browser.
Added the update password task for a frame when frame status becomes "Failed Authentication"
Fixed an issue that causes SRC E332FFFF to be reported.
Fixed an issue where the Virtual Ethernet QOS value changed from none to zero when profile modification occurred for max_procs.
Fixed an issue where current configuration is deleted when activate profile fails during vfc adapter validation with errors HSCLA4C3 and HSCL058A.
Added certificate validation when HMC is connected to LDAP directory over TLS.
Fixed an issue that caused SRC E35A000D due to too many TIME_WAIT Sockets.
Fixed an issue where a user with hmcoperator role was not able to create a VIO from Enhanced UI resulting in error "Creating VIOS Partition failed".
Fixed an issue with edit connection on Virtual Fibre Channel panel where user was required to hit the enter key after any input for the setting to take effect.
Fixed a problem that caused the message "Active Memory Mirroring for Hypervisor activation code is required to use memory mirroring." to be always shown on the enhanced GUI General Settings panel for servers that support memory mirroring without an activation code.
Fixed an issue with the change credentials password scheduler execution to prevent the report of SRC E3D46FFF.
Fixed a certificate chain issue to include the whole certificate (Root + Intermediate).
