List of fixes *General fixes* * Fix to prevent a deadlock in HMCSession.destroy resulting in call home SRCs E35A0034 and E35A0035 and data replication function delay * Added new state information to the *lscodpool --level pool *command, the PowerEnterprisePool REST object, and to the Power Enterprise Pool GUI to indicate when the pool is in a needs update state due to a pool update or recover operation that failed to successfully enter the pool processor resource entitlement code or the pool memory resource entitlement code. * Updated logic to display the proper hostname in the *lsprimhmc *command. * POWER9 or POWER9_ADVANCED Processor compatibility modes are now supported in Templates. * Fixed an issue where adding an HMC during the Create Power Enterprise Pool task failed when the HMC hostname was specified and the hostname was for an HMC Ethernet interface other than eth0. * The predefined HMC task role hmcclientliveupdate, which is used for AIX Live Kernel Update (LKU) operations, has been updated to support Power Enterprise Pool related operations. * Fix to display AIX, Linux, and VIOS partitions that have names containing "os400" in the vtmenu output * Fixed PCM utilization data for SR-IOV adapters operating in dedicated mode that caused the following error to be displayed: /"Error Code 3004 failed to fetch SRIOV adapter physical port statistics due to a technical error."/ * Added checks to validate syntax and return an error when *mkauthkeys *is run without the SSH key as the last argument * Fixed an issue when the prefix length is provided for an IPV6 address while activating an lpar using the GUI resulting in error "/The IPv6 address is not valid. Please specify IPv6 Address in / format./" * Fix to display the promiscuous mode setting for logical ports in the Add VIOS wizard. * Fixed an issue when sending gzipped files (FSPDUMP, SYSDUMP) weren't getting transferred with the .gz extension on transmission to IBM. * Add new field of RAID rebuild status to the *lshmc -h* command * Enabled auto population of the partition ID in templates to prevent the message "/Error in Create Partition. Unable to retrieve an equivalent CHILD object after the requested operation./" * Fix for a DHCP lease file parsing issue which was causing the HMC to not auto-discover one or more systems which were DHCP clients. * Fix to prevent garbage characters from displaying for Japanese locale in the status and title bar during Launch Guided Setup Wizard locally at the HMC console. * Fixed an issue that would cause some offload to media operations to fail to copy service event files to USB media even though the offload returned success. * Heuristic changes to panels for improved useability. * Improved performance of closing serviceable events in Serviceable Events Manager. * Fixed VSCSI Storage Attachment during Partition Template Deploy Operation to prevent the deployment from failing with /the given disk name xxxx already exists/. * Fix to prevent the RPM command from hanging while collecting a HMC Critical Console Backup. * Improved logic for how event duplicates are determined when being reported in the same incident pool timeframe. * Fix for 'Backup Management Console data' which shows running on task panel indefinitely even after rebooting the console. *Security **fix* * Addressed CVE issue for libssh: CVE-2020-1730 Known issues and limitations * In the Chrome browser, the checkbox is displayed as ellipsis (three dots) in Windows 10. The user can zoom in with the browser to see the checkboxes. * OEM HMC communicates to IBM when periodic transmission triggers or ESA is activated * A rare timing issue exists that causes the CPU utilization for a partition that has just been migrated to a managed system in an Enterprise Pool (EP) 2.0 to be absurdly high for the first minute. This issue is rare and can only occur when the HMC managing the destination managed system is at V9.2.950 + PTF MH01883/MH01884 and the partition migration finishes in under 2 minutes. This issue can cause significant EP 2.0 metered usage to be charged. * After reboot of the HMC, one or two periodic transactions are triggered, then the test connectivity fails. * When an SR-IOV Adapter is in missing state "/Error launching task - REST0004 UNKNOWN ERROR/" is observed for several UI functions. * Deleting multiple VFC adapters from a shutdown partition does not delete all the adapters from the client. * Whenever the dashboard grid has many rows of partitions or VIOS sometimes the top row is not displayed properly when the user attempts to scroll. * With periodic transactions, once the transmission is completed files are unnecessarily kept up to 2 days, taking up file system space. * Installing Service Packs or PTFs using virtual media results in the following message: /Media Services Error// // //The media contains an unrecognized filesystems. Please make sure that the media is properly formatted.// //Would you like to try to use the media again?// // //ACT02065/ * When doing a DLPAR operation on processor or memory when the partition keystore capability is disabled results in message R/EST0302 The partition keystore size can only be specified when the managed system supports partition keystore capability/. * Unable to create a full backup of a Virtual I/O server if the browser locale is non-English resulting in an "/Unknown error occurred/". * For systems not supporting virtual persistent memory, the Utilized Memory column shows twice in Server overview -> Resource utilization table on the PCM Dashboard. Best Practices * User sessions - The following best practices helps avoid performance degradations gradually over a period of time due to increased login sessions as well as security vulnerabilities such as unauthorized access to the active HMC sessions. o It is a best practice to logoff from HMC UI and then close the browser tab instead of directly closing the tab o Set Idle session timeout for all the users and not leave the timeout as '0' which leaves it as no timeout.
