List of fixes *General fixes* * Fixed a problem with activation of a profile containing a migratable SR-IOV adapter with a vNIC backup adapter where the port vLAN ID is not set on the vNIC backing device. This can result in loss of networking access during failover to the vNIC adapter. * Fixed an issue seen with auto-discovery or discovery using IP range for connection establishment, resulting in error "/No systems have been found in the range of IP addresses specified./" * Fixed an issue where the UI shows Enable Active Memory Expansion setting but it is grayed out and cannot be modified. When the setting is enabled, it does not show the expansion factor field. * Fixed an issue in a dual HMC configuration of the managed system, where the managed system would go into Incomplete state on the HMC when on the other HMC, a virtual network is created on the managed system, with the same name as another virtual network which has now been renamed. * Fixed an issue with HMC reporting higher CPU utilization call home SRC E212E151 when PCM is enabled. * Increased the width of the SR-IOV physical port selection box and made the Physical Port Location Code column in the table resizable on the Add Virtual NIC GUI page. * Fix to prevent call home SRC E212E091. * Fixed an issue that required the LDAP to be reconfigured in order to be able to login after update to new Service Packs and PTFs * Fixed the cause of call home SRC E212E114 while using the HMC local GUI browser. * Fixed an issue causing call home SRC E35A0033 by reducing the excessive logging. * Fixed an issue causing call home of SRC E212E13D due to the /var/hsc/log file system being over 80% utilization. * Fixed an issue which prevented viewing IO device update details through the wizard when targeting multiple systems resulting in call home SRC E302F9C0 * Enabled Serbia (RS) or Montenegro (ME) country codes to be selected for call home customer information. * Fixed an issue that caused the HMC network to be restarted and SRC E35F0012 to be called home when creating a new HMC user using mkhmcusr command and data replication is enabled. * Fixed an issue that caused the VM Recovery Manager relocation of a partition using NETAPP SAN storage to fail with the error "/REST019C Value ' "pending_boot_string=source=,NETAPP-LUN C-Mode-" ' is not valid for option ' inputdata /'". * Fixed an issue with scheduling indefinite scheduled operations that would result in message: "/A SCHEDULED OPERATION FAILED/". * Fixed an issue where the Service event for a PEL with LP section is missing the reporting lpar id/name field. The fields: "reporting_partition_id" and "reporting_partition_name" are now deprecated and are replaced by: "partition_id" and "partition_name" * Fixed shared Processor partitions utilization shown in the GUI to now reflect utilization data adjusted for OS idle time similar to dedicated processor partitions. * Fixed an issue with lshmcldap while retrieving remote managed users for LDAP that would return error "/java.lang.ClassCastException: java.util.Vector incompatible with java.lang.String/". * Fixed a HMC login issue where kerberos users who exist in realms other than the default realm are not able to login to the HMC. * Fixed the periodic report of call home SRC E35F0012. * Fixed an issue that caused VIOS Backups using the HMC to fail whenever the HMC hostname or its domain suffix contains the word 'local'. * Fixed the following two intermittent issues with Logical partitions on the HMC GUI: 1. The Actions button of selected Partitions returns "/There is no action available for resource(s) you've selected/" error message. 2. No details listed after clicking on the Partition and the pop-up menu returns error. * Fixed the selection of the "any" default gateway device option from associating to the wrong interface. * Fixed the "unable to connect to database" error while installing VIOS from the HMC GUI * Fix to prevent call home SRC E212E13D getting repeatedly reported triggered by /var/hsc/log usage exceeding threshold. * Fix to prevent call home SRCs E2FF1402 and E2FF4600. * Generate an error when a user attempts to close a problem from the secondary HMC, but the secondary HMC cannot communicate and publish the request to the primary HMC. * Disable call home of SRC 0B0F0500 for a temporary Ethernet link down. * Fix to prevent call home SRC E212E136. * Fixed updlic command that completes with non-zero success return code, but /var/log/message says command failed. This issue is seen only when updlic command is run with the -q option, and the -q option is not the last argument. The non-zero return code is expected to represent concurrent vs disruptive. * Added validation to ensure there is only one backing device for vNIC mapping. * Fixed Serviceable Events Manager or Events Manager for Call Home to display serviceable events if the browser is set to a locale for a language that HMC does not support. * Fixed an issue where partition virtual storage shows internal error and GUI does not provide option to attach storage to the partition, and was not listed in the Tasks list * Fixed an issue when updating serial number of HMC's 7063CR1 from returning error message: //opt/host/vpdupdate/bin/edbgdetcnfg: line 19: warning: command substitution: ignored null byte in input/ * Enhanced the *lscod -m -c metered -t cap* command to display the time remaining before a Power Enterprise Pool 2.0 membership CoD code expires. * Fixed LDAP user authentication via backup uri, when primary uri is not reachable. *Security **fixes* * Enhanced the *chhmcencr *and *lshmcencr *commands to run without all services of HMC being up and running. * Addressed httpd vulnerabilities: CVE-2022-22720, CVE-2021-34798 and CVE-2021-39275. Known issues and limitations * Tasklog fails to open and returns a REST error" "/Error status : 500 - [A server error occurred during processing the request.]// //Error code : 500/" * Kerberos users will not be allowed to reset expired password on the HMC * HMC recently updated TomCat to Version 9, HTTP response messages are no longer present. Any REST client calls being made by external applications or the customer should depend on the status code instead of the status message to validate the success/failure of the API. This change may impact other products that use the HMC REST API such as VMRM and LKU. Check the product documentation for any prerequisite update needed for this HMC level. Best Practices * User sessions - The following best practices helps avoid performance degradations gradually over a period of time due to increased login sessions as well as security vulnerabilities such as unauthorized access to the active HMC sessions. o It is a best practice to logoff from HMC UI and then close the browser tab instead of directly closing the tab o Set Idle session timeout for all the users and not leave the timeout as '0' which leaves it as no timeout. * Use Kerberos realm name that follow the standard naming structure. For example, DNS domain name in uppercase.
