The information in this Readme contains the fix list and other package information about the Hardware Management Console.

Terminology

x86 -  This term is used to reference the Intel hypervisors (KVM, VMWare, Xen) on which Virtual HMC can be installed. Note: HMC V10R1 release for x86 is not supported on bare metal (7042 hardware appliances).

ppc64 or ppc64le - describes the Linux code that is compiled to run on Power-based servers or LPARS (Logical Partitions)

PTF MF70698 HMC V10 R1 M1021.2 – for vHMC for x86_64 hypervisors  (5765-VHX)

This package represents an interim fix for HMC V10 R1 M1021 for vHMC on x86_64 hypervisors. You can also reference this package by APAR MB04382 and PTF MF70698. This PTF can be installed on HMC V10 R1 M1021.

Note: This PTF supersedes MF70629.

PTF MF70699 HMC V10 R1 M1021.2 – for 7063 Hardware or vHMC for PowerVM (5765-HMB)

This package represents an interim fix for HMC V10 R1 M1021 on 7063 machine type or vHMC for PowerVM. You can reference this package by APAR MB04383 and PTF MF70699. This PTF can be installed on HMC V10 R1 M1021.

General fix

  • Fixed a timing issue that caused the HMC to lose its network settings when it was restarted.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented login for any Kerberos user.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented call home from working successfully. Symptoms included test call home displaying attempts at trying additional IP addresses.
  • Fix for LDAP automanage status upon removal of LDAP configuration.
  • Fixed an issue that caused installios command to not recognize the '-o' for NFS options.
  • Fixed a save upgrade data failure with the error "Upgrade partition is full" when managing many systems and partitions where backups of profile data exceeded the space.
  • Fixed an issue to prevent reporting SRC E3325009 arbitration error.
  • Addressed Java vulnerabilities: CVE-2022-3676, CVE-2022-21628, CVE-2022-21626, CVE-2022-21624, and CVE-2022-21619.
  • Addressed vulnerability: CVE-2022-43926.
  • Fixed an issue with the validation of a text field in the login page.
  • Fixed an issue with the gen_backup_db command.
  • Fixed an issue with running the sed command.
