Installing or Updating IBM Content Navigator Version 3.0.12 Interim Fix 3

The following information and steps apply to IBM Content Navigator. To install the interim fix, perform the steps below using the interim fix executable. When you install an interim fix, you can run the installation wizard or run a silent installation. The interim fix can be installed as an update to IBM Content Navigator Version 3.0.12.0 or later.

The interim fix installation program updates the files in the directory where IBM Content Navigator is installed. After the installation program completes successfully, restart the web application server and redeploy the IBM Content Navigator web application to apply the changes from the interim fix.

To install IBM Content Navigator, Version 3.0.12 Interim Fix 3:

  1. Back up your current installation of IBM Content Navigator including the master cryptographic key. For more information about backing up the master key, see https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/869440
  2. Ensure that the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool is closed.
  3. Log in to the IBM Content Navigator server with the IBM Content Navigator installer account.
  4. Install the interim fix by running the installation wizard or by running a silent installation:
    Important: Do not enter line breaks in the command that you enter to start the installation program.

    AIX

    At a command prompt, change to the directory where you downloaded the interim fix and enter one of the following commands:

    Linux

    At a command prompt, change to the directory where you downloaded the interim fix and enter one of the following commands:

    Linux for System z

    At a command prompt, change to the directory where you downloaded the interim fix and enter one of the following commands:

    Windows

    At a command prompt, change to the directory where you downloaded the interim fix and enter one of the following commands:

  5. Open the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment tool, click File > Open Deployment Profile, select the target deployment profile and click Open.

  6. If the External Share feature is needed, then perform the bulleted steps below and then continue to Step 7, else continue to Step 7

  7. Run the "Configuring the IBM Content Navigator web application" task. For more instructions, see the topic, "Configuring the IBM Content Navigator web application" in the information center: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/content-navigator/3.0.12?topic=server-configuring-content-navigator-web-application.

  8. Run the "Build the Web Application" task. For more instructions, see the topic, Rebuilding the IBM Content Navigator web application in the information center: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/content-navigator/3.0.12?topic=server-building-web-application.

  9. Run the "Deploy the Web Application" task in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool for the profile that you want to redeploy.

  10. Stop the IBM Content Navigator web application server.

  11. Clear the application server cache:

  2. If IBM Content Navigator is configured for a high availability environment, see https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/869440 to ensure the crypto keys are set up properly in all servers.

Removing the interim fix

When you uninstall the interim fix, you also uninstall IBM Content Navigator.

The interim fix for IBM Content Navigator uninstallation program removes the program and all applied fixes. You cannot remove only the interim fix.

Updating the Edit Service client

To update the Edit Service client, uninstall the old version and install the new version on both Windows and Mac OS.

IO28877 Incorrect index numbers displayed when converting .docx extension documents.

IBM Content Navigator users) Index numbers in Microsoft Office documents with extension .docx do not display properly in PDF Conversion viewer or in the PDF downloaded by Download as PDF action. With this fix, index numbers display correctly.


IO29012 Searches fail to open when using Bulgarian BG application locale.

(IBM Content Navigator users) Searches fail to open if application locale is set to Bulgarian BG locale. With this fix, this symptom does not occur.


IO29015 OD cabinets are sorted in the wrong order.

(IBM Content Manager OnDemand users) OnDemand cabinets in Search are not sorted in natural order like they are in the Content Manager OnDemand client for servers. With this fix, cabinets are sorted in natural order instead of lexicographic order.


IO29018 Configure Your Database and Data Source task fails to run script if database user's password has a special character.

(IBM Content Navigator administrators) In the IBM Content Navigator configuration and deployment tool, the 'Configure Your Database and Data Source' task fails if the 'Run the script on your database' option is enabled and the database user password has a special character in it, such as a $. With this fix, the script runs successfully even with special characters in the password.

(IBM FileNet Content Manager users) Server Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in location verification check with Aspera fixed.


IO28913 'customInvalidItems' parameter does not work with EDS on entry template layout.

(IBM Content Navigator users) When using Entry Templates layout with EDS validation on multi-values properties, the invalid items are not marked properly with 'validateAs' and 'customInvalidItems' set in EDS. With this fix, this problem is resolved.


IO28926 Sort by 'None' is not persisted when a CM8 search is saved.

(IBM Content Manager users) When opening a search that is configured to sort by 'None', the sort by setting is set to 'Name'. With this fix, the sort by setting is 'None'.


IO28930 Unexpected choice list in multi-class Workplace XT search.

(IBM FileNet Content Manager users) Workplace XT search templates configured to search in multiple classes may display unexpected choice lists. With this fix, there are no unexpected choice lists in the search criteria.


IO28936 Thumbnail area displays wrong image if user clicks quickly between PDF files.

(IBM Content Navigator users) When a user quickly clicks between some PDF files, the thumbnail no longer matches the file selected. With this fix, the thumbnail matches the file selected.


IO28946 Using Classic theme, expanding the Properties pane misplaces the Version attribute on the Properties pane.

(IBM Content Navigator users) Using Classic theme, expanding the Properties pane misplaces the Version attribute on the Properties pane. With this fix, this issue is resolved.


IO28950 Saved search bookmarks fail to open if the search is searching on a different repository.

(IBM FileNet Content Manager users) Saved search bookmarks fail to open if the search is searching on a different repository. With this fix, this symptom is resolved.


IO28969 Unable to sort by custom properties in Browse.

(IBM FileNet Content Manager users) Unable to sort by custom properties in Browse. With this fix, items in Browse can be sorted by custom properties.


IO28974 Save button is disabled when adding comments.

IO28882 Incorrect behaviour when encoding URL with empty parameter.

(IBM FileNet Content Manager users) Incorrect behaviour is seen when encoding URLs with empty parameters. An equals sign (=) is appended to the empty parameters when the URL is encoded. With this fix, this symptom does not occur.


IO28883 Password Message box does not display @ sign correctly.

(IBM Content Navigator users) The Password Message box does not display @ sign correctly. With this fix, this symptom does not occur.


IO28888 Hang occurs when copy and paste action is done in the Datacap Navigator UI.

(IBM Content Navigator users) In Datacap Navigator panel UI, the UI hangs often when an attempt is made to copy and paste in the panel. With this fix, this symptom is resolved.


IO28890 Saved searches against Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) not escaped correctly.

(IBM Content Manager OnDemand users) Saved searches against Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) not escaped correctly, resulting in Unicode characters in text. With this fix, this symptom is resolved.


IO28892 Configure Database and Datasource task deletes other datasources with different name.

(IBM Content Navigator users) Configure Database and Datasource task deletes other datasources with different name, that use the same JDBC provider. With this fix, the ICN CMUI datasource task will not delete other datasources that are using the same JDBC provider.


IO28901 'Configuration object not retrieved' messages occur in the server log when loading a desktop.

(IBM Content Navigator users) A log of messages similar to the following message are added to the application server log file continuously when the debug logs are enabled indicating unnecessary database queries are made continuously. With this fix, the unnecessary database queries are no longer made and the logs are no longer added.


IO28906 Error occurs when sharing an item in the bookmark page.

(IBM FileNet Content Manager users) An error occurs when attempting to share an item in a folder bookmark page. With this fix, the item can be shared.


IO28929 Preview action using HTML Conversion viewer fails with large JPEG documents.

(IBM Content Navigator users) Preview action using HTML Conversion viewer fails with large JPEG documents. With this fix, the Preview action is successful.
