Issues that might occur when borrowing licensing.

No product licenses are listed

Why do I not see any product licenses that can be borrowed?
  • Some IBM® Rational® products do not support licenses that can be borrowed, see your product documentation for more information.
  • The IBM Rational License Key Server that you are connected to does not serve licenses for the product.
  • The IBM Rational License Borrow Tool cannot communicate with the Rational License Key Server.
    Note: If the Rational License Key Server is stopped, you must restart the Rational License Borrow Tool after the licensing server is restarted.
  • You do not have permission to borrow licenses. Licenses are not available for the current user.
  • There are no Rational products that are installed and configured with the Rational License Key Server.
  • You are connected to a version of the Rational License Key Server that is not supported for the Rational License Borrow Tool. The Rational License Borrow Tool is supported with Rational License Key Server version 8.1.2.

Unable to borrow a license

Why can I not borrow a license?
  • All licenses that can be borrowed have been checked out.
  • The Rational License Borrow Tool cannot communicate with the Rational License Key Server.
    Note: If the Rational License Key Server is stopped, you must restart the Rational License Borrow Tool after the licensing server is restarted.
  • You do not have permission to borrow licenses. Licenses are not available for the current user.
  • You selected an expiration date that is greater than the time allowed for borrowing licenses.

Unable to borrow all selected licenses

Why do I receive an error indicating that at least one of the licenses could not be borrowed?

In some cases, one of the selected licenses cannot be borrowed. The error indicates the borrow status for each of the selected licenses. For licenses that are not successfully borrowed, information is provided about why the license cannot be borrowed.
