Use the IBM® Rational® License
Borrow Tool to borrow a license.
About this task
You can borrow a license when you want to work offline. By
default, a license is borrowed until the end of the day of the selected
expiration date. The end of the day is based on the time zone set
for the client. You must be connected to the license server to borrow
a license.
Procedure
- Open the Rational License
Borrow Tool. Under Products for Borrow, a list of product
licenses that can be borrowed are shown. If the Borrow Tool does not
list any licenses, see Troubleshooting for
information about common issues.
- Select a product. You can select more than one
product at a time. Only floating licenses can be borrowed.
- Click Product Details to see
a list of product features.
- Click Borrow Products.
- In the calendar, select an expiration date. If
you select more than one product license to borrow, you can select
only one expiration date that applies to all selected product licenses.
To set different expiration dates for each license, you must borrow
each license separately.
The length of time that you can borrow
a license is determined by the IBM Rational product.
You receive an error if you select a date that is greater than the
time allowed for license that can be borrowed.
