Known problems

Known problems for Rational Performance Tester 8.3 are listed below:
  • After installing the 64-bit workbench, the IBM Installation Manager log might display this message:This feature does not support 64 bit architecture. You can ignore this message.
  • If you install Rational Performance Tester 8.3 on a Windows system and use Internet Explorer 8, you must install the two Internet Explorer patches mentioned in this article.
  • Some of the label names in Rational Performance Tester 8.3 for the Japanese locale are not displayed correctly. This problem is related to the Meriyo bold font that is used for headers in Windows 7 systems that are set to Japanese locale. The problem occurs in all Windows applications using this font.
  • Charts that are exported to the HTML format are compressed as .zip files. If the Windows default tool is used to extract the files, some of files are renamed. You must use other compression tools to extract files.
  • If the installation path for Rational Performance Tester 8.3 specified in IBM Installation Manager contains non-English-language characters, the installation fails.
  • The numeric fields in the web-based reports do not accept non-English-language numeric values. You must use the 0 to 9 numeric values.
  • The shortcut keys can be used only for the Eclipse-based reports and not for the web-based reports. For the web-based reports, you can use only the Tab and arrow keys.
  • On Windows 7 systems, the context-sensitive help text that is displayed in bold in the English language might be displayed in normal font in the Traditional Chinese language.
  • If embedded browsers are used when exporting report counters, a blank window might be displayed even if the export operation is successful. You can close the blank window
