Using the product documentation

There are different ways to access Rational Test RealTime documentation. By default, you can access hep content from the remote Rational Test RealTime Knowledge Center on the Internet. This option does not require configuration, but it does require Internet access. You can access the product documentation from a local server. You can launch a local server so that multiple users can access the product documentation.

About this task

Local help is not available on Solaris and AIX systems. The instructions on how to access local help apply to Rational Test RealTime Studio only.

Procedure

Accessing the default remote help

The help application contains the basic help infrastructure that is required to run a help system and minimal product-specific information. By default, when you access the help system, you are directed across the Internet to the remote IBM Knowledge Center for help content.

The default URL for Rational Test RealTime documentation is currently http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSSHUF_8.0.1/welcome.html but you can change this URL so as to point to another version of Test RealTime documentation on the internet, for example http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSSHUF_8.0.0/welcome.html.

Accessing local help

If you don't have internet access, you can access the help content on a local server. It requires the administrator to install the product documentation on this server.

To be able to access the Rational Test RealTime documentation on a local server, you must change the help content selections:

Multiple users can access the product documentation if it is installed on a local server. Test RealTime must be installed on a Linux or Windows computer.
