Determining which port to insert the USB flash drive

If you are unsure which port to insert the USB flash drive in, use this information to ensure that you are using the correct port.

About this task

When a node canister has a flashing status LED, you can use either of USB ports on the node canister for system initialization.

Procedure

  1. Determine the USB port that is associated with the node canister that you used to confirm the system status LED. For both the left and right node canisters, there are two USB ports into which you can insert the USB flash drive. Use either of the USB port that corresponds with the node canister that you used to verify the system status LED.

The USB ports are directly underneath the Ethernet ports. The following diagram shows the location of the USB ports 1  for a node canister:

  2. Ethernet cables can be obstructing your view of the USB ports. If you want to move these cables to insert the USB flash drive into the USB port, check whether you dislodged any cables and reseat them, if necessary.
  3. You can use either of the two USB ports for system initialization.
