After the
USB flash drive is inserted into one of USB ports on the node canister
that is being initialized, the fault LED starts to flash, indicating
that the node canister is initializing. Normally during this process
the fault LED flashes for approximately 3 minutes before it stops.
The fault LEDs are on the node canister.
About this task
After the USB flash drive is inserted either
of the two USB ports on the node canister that is being initialized,
the fault LED (
) starts flashing.
If the fault LED does not stop
flashing as expected, use the following steps to determine any necessary
action:
Procedure
- Ensure that you wait at least 3 minutes from when the
fault LED first started to flash. If the LED stops flashing within
this time, return to the initialization wizard. If the fault LED continues
to flash, proceed to 2.
- Look at the status LED. (
) If
the status LED is permanently on, proceed to step 6.
- If the status LED is flashing or permanently off, see Resolving problems with the node canister, taking care to remove
the USB flash drive from the canister when the canister is removed
from the enclosure.
- Cancel the initialization wizard.
- Reinsert the USB flash drive into your personal computer
and restart the initialization tool. Complete the steps in the tool,
but use the other node canister
in the control enclosure.
After completing the initialization wizard, if the fault
LED does not stop flashing, contact your support representative for
further assistance.
- If the status LED is permanently
on, then the system has initialized successfully. Return to the initialization
wizard and continue as if the fault LED stopped flashing. Verify the
results of initialization. If the system is operational, log on to
the management GUI and complete system setup. After completing system
setup, check the fault LED to determine whether it is still flashing.
If the fault LED is still flashing, complete these steps:
- In
the management GUI, select .
- Restart the system.
- If the fault
LED continues to flash, contact the support center for more assistance.
