Due to some system constraints, it is not possible to produce a single drive firmware package that works on all drives on all Spectrum Virtualize code levels. Therefore you will find a selection of different files available for use. You will not need to use all these files to upgrade the drives in the system. Systems running v8.5.0 and later ================================== To upgrade SAS HDD, SAS SSD, NVMe, SCM and FCM drives in the NVMe systems, use the file labelled: * FlashSystem_NVMe_8.5.0_AND_LATER_ALL_DRIVES To upgrade SAS HDD and SAS SSD in the SAS systems, use the file labelled * FlashSystem_SAS_8.5.0_AND_LATER_ALL_DRIVES No other drive file will work on these systems. Systems running releases v8.4.2.x and earlier ========================================================================== To upgrade NVMe and FCM drives in the system, use the file labelled * 8.4.2_AND_EARLIER_NVME_ALL_DRIVES To upgrade SAS HDD drives in the system, use the file labelled * 8.4.2_AND_EARLIER_SAS_HDD_DRIVES To upgrade SAS SSD drives in the system, use the file labelled * 8.4.2_AND_EARLIER_SAS_SSD_DRIVES This choice of which drive file to use is dependent on the capacity of the Drives in the system. NOTES: * The choice of file to use depends on a drive property labelled as "Physical Capacity" or "Raw Capacity" in the CLI and the GUI. * To see the physical/raw capacity in the GUI, use the Pools -> Internal Storage panel in the GUI, and use Actions-Customize Columns (with no drive selected) to add the "Raw Capacity" or "Physical Capacity" field to the table. Different versions of the GUI use different labels, however this is the same data. * For industry standard drives, the physical/raw capacity is the same as the capacity of the drive. * For FlashCore Modules (FCMs) the physical capacity is smaller than the reported capacity - due to the internal compression capabilities.
