New features and resolved issues The IBM System Storage TS7600 with ProtecTIER Introduction and Planning Guide for the TS7650 [3958 AP1 - Appliance], GC53-1193-05, fully describes the new features in the release. IBM has found during testing, that under certain circumstances there maybe a condition where metadata is no longer correct in ProtecTIER systems running version 2.1 or higher. This issue may lead to user data inaccessibility or data loss. This new level of software, version 2.5.6, prevents the conditions leading to this issue. If you experience user data inaccessibility issues with your ProtecTIER system, please contact IBM for assistance. Customers who consider upgrading to version 2.5.5 or 2.5.4 are advised to upgrade to version 2.5.6 that is currently available for download.
