Notices +---------------+ | 1. Description| +---------------+ The Interim Fix 7 for Tivoli Common Reporting 1.2.0.1 contains fixes for APARs and internal defects. This readme contains the most current information for this interim fix and takes precedence over all other documentation. Q: I cannot find Interim Fix 4 and Interim Fix 5 on the Tivoli Common Reporting support site. A: Interim Fix 4 and Interim Fix 5 were released internally for Tivoli Integrated Portal-based products. Interim Fix 6 contains all the patches which were included in those both interim fixes. Q: Is Interim Fix 7 a cumulative pack? A: Partially. Interim Fix 7 does contain all the fixes from Interim Fix 4, Interim Fix 5, and Interim Fix 6. +-------------------+ | 1.1 APARs included| +-------------------+ The Interim Fix 7 for Tivoli Common Reporting 1.2.0.1 contains fixes for the following APARs: IY99946 - Tivoli Common Reporting Drill-through reports do not work when HTTP communication is enabled and in use. When enabling the HTTP protocol, each report's URL still had "https" hardcoded and hence an error was reported. HTTPS prefix was hardcoded in the Tivoli Common Reporting Report Viewer component. IY99950 - When using Internet Explorer, report outputs are moved to the background after opening. This issue occurs in Internet Explorer only. When running a report, the output window was placed in the background. This was a dojo-related bug. IY99956 - User names are hidden if there is a large list of users in Tivoli Common Reporting authorizations window. After adding many users, for example 15, to Tivoli Common Reporting authorizations list, the users are hidden if you try to scroll the list. If you select the column header to change sorting (ASC/DESC), the users are displayed. This behavior occurs only in IE. Tivoli Common Reporting dojo table implementation was not correct. IY99957 - ConnectionException exceptions occur when the WebSphere Service Registry plug-in attempts to make secure connection to WSRR Service. Reports trying to load com.ibm.websphere.ssl.protocol.SSLSocketFactory will fail with an error, due to thread context manipulation performed by BIRT classloaders. IY99958 - Tivoli Common Reporting report execution with changed parameters will not reload the data. Cross tables cache issue in BIRT. When using cross tables, due to efficiency, BIRT caches the query. This is why if the datasource is changed, it is not reflected in the report output. The new fix disables the cache. IY99959 - Submitting multiple reports at once can cause unpredictable behaviour of individual images for the reports. When running reports with multiple images, each image is written to a temporary folder based on an internal session ID. When multiple images are used in a report, it can happen that images are mixed because a new session ID overwrites the old one. IY99960 - Tivoli Common Reporting multiselect parameter filed is not able to display long strings. The Tivoli Common Reporting dojo implementation of multiple selection list had a fixed length set to 200px. Strings longer than 200px were truncated. IY99962 - The "Is required" parameter does not work with multi-select fields. The Tivoli Common Reporting dojo implementation of multiselect component ignores the "isRequired" attributes. IY99965 - Cannot delete scheduler in TCR 1.2.0.1. With this APAR we upgrade the TSS component (scheduler) to version 1.1.1.1. +---------------------+ | 1.2 Internal defects| +---------------------+ 29263 - Scheduled Tivoli Common Reporting reports interfere with each other causing one of them to fail. 33771 - Tivoli Common Reporting does not work with Asian fonts when outputting to PostScript on Windows 2003 and 2008. BIRT engine is not able to read the fontsConfig_postscript_Windows_XP.xml file on 2003 and 2008 Windows platforms. 33802 - Large snapshots cannot be saved in the Tivoli Common Reporting database. The following exception is reported: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: The given offset and length exceed the number of bytes available in this random access byte array. 33954 - Default Korean fonts are too small in the Tivoli Common Reporting portlet 34336 - Report design cache implemented in Tivoli Common Reporting was disabled because it interfered with BIRT engine cache. The problem symptoms were visible in the case of ITM OS Agent reports. The same report executed twice for different operating systems within a short period of time returns no data for the second run. 34353 - Hiding the Navigation bar when the "On-demand report parameters" dialog is opened disables backspace key. 35412 - cannot install ifix2 for IBM Tivoli Common Reporting. Installing Tivoli Common Reporting in a non-standard folder with escape sequences on it: D:\apps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip. The problem is that the script executor is interpreting escape sequences D:\apps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip in the following way: the \a is interpreted as a single character and the substitution produces an invalid path containing non alphabetic characters, such as D:pps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip. The "\a" is missing. The script could handle only \t escape sequences. The same problem arose with the following escape characters: \a, for example D:\apps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip \0, for example D:\0pps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip \b, for example D:\bpps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip \f, for example D:\bpps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip \n, for example D:\npps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip \r, for example D:\rpps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip \v, for example D:\vpps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip Paths with \xNNN and \OOO, where NNN is an exadecimal number and OOO is an octal number, are not supported. For example, D:\x255pps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip will be converted to D:FFpps\IBM\Tivoli\Tip, because 0xFF is 255 in decimal format. TCP1081 - TIP 1.1.1.11 fails to install due to TCR. Sometimes the files reportingConfig.xml is missing in the system. With this, we republish the Interim Fix 6 in order to include some additional traces that will check if the file is really in the file system BEFORE and AFTER the installation. SIEM1039 - Using locale option on trcmd does not work when exporting reports. The -distribute command ignores the -locale flag and the current locale defined by the Java process running TCR is taken as current locale. +---------------------------------------------------------+ | 2 Applying Tivoli Common Reporting 1.2.0.1 Interim Fix 7| +---------------------------------------------------------+ To apply the fix: 1. On the computer where Tivoli Common Reporting server has been installed, unpack the 1.2.0.1-TIV-TCR-IF7.zip into a temporary directory. 2. Stop the Tivoli Common Reporting server. 3. Install the interim fix by running the following command from shell: install[.sh|.bat] -i , - where is the directory where Tivoli Common Reporting is installed. - You may have to add executable permission (+x) for the install.sh script on Linux/UNIX platforms (chmod u+x install.sh). - Due to case-sensitivity of Deployment Engine, the value used for must be exactly the same as the directory path entered during the TCR 1.2.0.1 installation. A common error is to use a non capital letter for the installation drive on Windows. If the disk where you installed Tivoli Common Reporting server is "C:", you have to use a capital letter when specifying it, for example: install.bat -i c:\IBM\tivoli\tip will not work, while install.bat -i C:\IBM\tivoli\tip will work. 4. Verify the installation: Navigate to the folder where the Deployment Engine has been installed. For Windows the folder is: C:\Program Files\IBM\Common\acsi\bin or C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Common\acsi\bin (for 64bit systems) Type listUI.cmd and the output should show that the TCR Interim Fix 7 has been installed. For UNIX-like systems: Source the DE environment by running the following command: . /var/ibm/common/acsi/setenv.sh for root user, or . ~/.acsi_/setenv.sh for non-root users. Make sure you include the . (dot and space) characters when running the command. Browse to the following directory: /usr/ibm/common/acsi/bin for root user, or ~/.acsi_/bin for non-user users. Type listUI.sh and the output should show that the TCR Interim Fix 7 has been installed. 5. Start the Tivoli Common Rerporting server. +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | 3 Uninstalling Tivoli Common Reporting 1.2.0.1 Interim Fix 7| +-------------------------------------------------------------+ To remove from your Tivoli Common Reporting instance the Tivoli Common Reporting 1.2.0.1 Interim Fix 7, follow these steps: 1. Stop the Tivoli Common Reporting server. 2. Run the following command from shell: install[.sh|.bat] -r 3. Start the server. +----------+ | 4 Notices| +----------+ This information was developed for products and services offered in the U.S.A.
