This feature pack updates IBM® Maximo® Asset Management 7.6.0.2.
Prerequisites and supported products
To install this feature pack, ensure that IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6 or IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.1 is installed.
Supported upgrade paths
If you have IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6 or IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.1 installed, you can install the 7.6.0.2 feature pack.
What's new
What's new in IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.2
New features and capabilities in the IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.2 feature pack help your organization reconcile purchase order and invoice costs.
What's new in reporting
A new report was added to IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.2 to help you reconcile inventory.
Capitalizing on IBM Maximo Asset Management's new Continuous Delivery process, a new Invoice Cost Variance report was added in 7.6.0.2. This report displays the cost variances for LIFO/FIFO items. These variances occur when there is a difference in the received Purchase Order Line cost and the Invoiced Line cost. This report can be used to reconcile cost differences.
For additional information, access the Maximo 7.6 Report Booklet (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21693595).
What's new in IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.1
New features and capabilities in the IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.1 feature pack help your organization be more efficient through improvements to the process for issuing inventory usage documents, upgrading and reporting.
What's new in upgrading
The 7.6.0.1 feature pack helps you minimize downtime when you upgrade IBM Maximo Asset Management.
When you install a feature pack or upgrade your current deployment, the configuration portion of the process includes tasks to update the database and build and deploy application EAR files. The application server must be stopped during this phase of the deployment, which can lead to extended downtime of your production environment. Starting with the 7.6.0.1 feature pack, you can minimize downtime by using new programs to manually perform these configuration tasks. Tasks that are performed by the updatedb program, preparation of product class files and database updates, were split into two separate commands: updatedblitepreprocessor and updatedblite. When you prepare product class files by using these two commands, you no longer need to stop the IBM Maximo Asset Management application server. For more information, see this technote (http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21902458).
What's new in reporting
New reports were added to IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.1 to provide more insight on your inventory.
Three new reports were added in 7.6.0.1 to display each item's cost type (Average, Standard, LIFO, FIFO) and calculate its ABC, EOQ, or ROP by evaluating the transaction tables. Each report includes date parameters so you can query specific time periods for the item values. Additionally, each report contains a separate, secured report that updates the database with the new calculated values. The three new reports are Inventory ABC Transaction Date Analysis, Inventory EOQ Transaction Date Analysis, and Inventory ROP Transaction Date Analysis.
For additional information, access the Maximo 7.6 Report Booklet (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21693595).
What's new with inventory usage documents
Updates in the 7.6.0.1 feature pack make it faster and easier to do partial issues of inventory usage documents.
In Maximo versions 7.5.0.0 to 7.5.0.7, the Inventory Usage application forces a complete issue of all items on the usage document. If you wanted to do a partial issue of items on the usage document, you had to manually create a new usage doc with the remaining items. These steps are time consuming and slow down the business process for issuing items and fully completing reservations. In 7.6.0.1, you can now issue a partial quantity of an inventory usage document and create another usage document for the remaining quantity.

To install the IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.2 feature pack, perform the instructions that follow.
Before you begin
If you are not using the updateDBLite process, ensure that no database configuration changes are pending. Shut down all Maximo applications and back up the database. Copy the Maximo directory and save it to another location.
For Microsoft Windows 2012 users, log in as an administrator. If you attempt to upgrade when you are not logged in as an administrator, the installation fails. This feature pack is provided as an Installation Manager (IM) compressed file. When the feature pack is installed by using the Installation Manager program, the existing Maximo directory structure is overwritten. The feature pack also contains database scripts that modify the existing database.
To reverse the changes, you must restore the earlier version of the Maximo directory and database that you saved to another location.

Security issues
Security issues are resolved in each feature pack to ensure that IBM Maximo Asset Management is secure.
CVSS
IBM does not intend to provide vulnerability details that might enable someone to craft an exploit. IBM uses the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) as a standard for communicating the impact of security vulnerabilities in IBM products and solutions. CVSS is an industry open standard for assessing the severity or impact of computer system security vulnerabilities. This standard attempts to establish a numeric measure that represents how much concern or attention the vulnerability warrants. The resulting CVSS score is based on an assessment of a series of metrics. The CVSS Base Score represents the intrinsic and fundamental characteristics of the vulnerability that are typically constant over time and across user environments.
For more information, see http://www-03.ibm.com/security/secure-engineering/bulletins.html

Behavior changes
Behavior changes are listed separately so you can quickly and easily find changes that alter the database, functionality, system properties, and user interface.
Type | APAR | Issue | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Database | IV74750 | 181815 | The original script to install integration script options now uses the ALLUSERGROUP maxvariable. |
Database | IV73893 | 177794 | A relationship from the MAXINTOBJECT table to the MAXINTOBJALIAS table was added. This relationship can be used to find all alias columns for a MAXINTOBJECT. The resulting set contains zero or more objects. |
Database | IV71969 | 169699 | A link was added in MAXDOMINALINK for the PERSON.CALTYPE domain. |
Database | IV72571 | 171605 | The following default password rules were changed
to make Maximo more secure.
|
Database Functionality Property |
The database script V7602_62 creates the relationship
CUSTOMWOWORKLOG for the WORKORDER object and CUSTOMTKWORKLOG. It also
generates the following system properties:
|
||
Functionality | IV75503 | 182714 | HTTP access with the Maximo Integration Framework
(excluding REST/OSLC) supports the use of a default user through configuration
within the ejb-jar.xml file in the Maximo EAR file. This file contains
an ALLOWDFLTLOGIN entry that when set to 1 (true), causes requests
to use the default user rather than a user be passed as part of the
request.
Previously, the default setting was 1. The default setting is now 0. If your ejb-jar.xml file previously had a value 1, your external HTTP clients cannot post transactions to the Maximo Integration Framework unless those clients are passing a valid Maximo user. You can change the setting within the ejb-jar.xml file and rebuild/redeploy the Maximo EAR file. |
Functionality | IV74714 | 183955 | A new maxmessage was added with a group of CONFIGURE and a key of RelationshipAlreadyExists. Now, when this relationship occurs, the following error message is displayed: Relationship {0} already exists between base object {4} and child object {2}. As object {3} is a view, it inherits from object {4}; either a different relationship name must be used or the child object {1} must be changed to {2}. |
Functionality | IV74590 | 172339, 181210 | The COLUMNNAME of a MAXATTRIBUTE is now used to create the Action Log XML for Cognos publishing instead of the ATTRIBUTENAME. |
Functionality | IV70586 | 165776 | Previously: Task status was not considered during
the Work Package Material Status calculation for a parent work order. Now: Planned materials that are associated to tasks are only considered in the parent work order's Work Package Material Status calculation if the task has a status of APPR, WMATL, INPRG, or WSCH. |
Functionality | IV70782 | 166565 | The GL Debit Account on any Receipt line that transfers a Rotating or Inspection Required Item from the Receiving location to the Storeroom location now autofills with the GL Debit Account specified on the PO Line, rather than the To Storeroom's GL Control Account. |
Functionality | IV71835 | 169343 | Previously: When an Inventory Usage record was
created to transfer an Item of cost type LIFO or FIFO, the GL Debit
Account autofilled with the To Storeroom's GL Control Account. Now: The GL Debit Account autofills with that Inventory record's GL Control Account. This change reflects the behavior from the Transfer Current Item dialog in the Inventory application. |
Functionality | IV72017 | 170207 | Previously: The default application restriction
on the View Requisitions application only allows users to view requisitions
that were requested for or by users in the current user's supervision
hierarchy. Now: Users are allowed to view requisitions that are assigned to them by a task in workflow. |
Functionality | IV73843 | 177112 | Consignment items can now be transferred to another consignment storeroom if the consignment vendor is the same for both consignment storerooms. This transfer has a CONSTRANSFER type. |
Functionality User Interface |
IV72084 | 170234 | Functionality Change: Previously, when a user
entered values on the Apply IAS dialog in the
Receipts application, closed the dialog, then opened the dialog again
(without closing the Receive Rotating Items dialog), the previous
entered values were not displayed. Now, those previously entered values
are displayed. User Interface Change: Additionally, use of the Autonumber All button on this dialog now sets the asset number fields to read-only after you populate them. This is a User Interface Change but not a Functionality Change because previously, the autokeyed values were used in asset creation even if the user tried to edit them after they were populated. |
Property | IV71994 | 170228 | Several parameters were introduced in V7500_700.dbc
that can affect the execution of the V7500_700.class. These do not
need modification unless script execution time is a problem. This
script needs to run on a non-multi language system to update ASSETMETER
and LOCATIONMETER LASTREADING/LASTREADINGDATE values, or the wanted
decimal separator for updating ASSETMETER and LOCATIONMETER LASTREADING
differs from the application server Locale's decimal separator. Since
the decimal separator used for LASTREADING needs to match the decimal
separator of the application server's Locale, this instance exists
if the application server that is used to upgrade Maximo or run the
V7500_700 script differs from the application server that ultimately
hosts the Maximo production environment, and the Locales of the two
different application servers differ. The following parameters were added: 1. IV71994LANGUAGE: A language code, for example, "fr" or "en", that is used to determine which decimal separator is used for assetmeter and locationmeter lastreading. If this parameter is left empty, the application server's language code is used. 2. IV71994COUNTRY: A country code, for example, "FR" or "US", that is used to determine which decimal separator is used for assetmeter and locationmeter lastreading. If this parameter is left empty the application server's country code is used. 3. IV71994SKIPMLCHECK: If this parameter is set to 1, a script is run even if the system is not multi-language. This is so the script can be used to correct duplicate meterreading, locmeterreading readingdate, or measurement measuredate values, or to update assetmeter, locationmeter lastreading, and lastreadingdate values. The default value is 0 so that this script only runs in is a multi-language environment. 4. IV71994BATCHSIZE: This parameter can be modified to increase the measurement, meterreading, locmeterreading, assetmeter, and locationmeter update batch size. The default value is set to 1000. This can be used to try to improve script execution time if 1000 is not adequate. 5. IV71994SKIPDUPLOG: When the value of this parameter is set to false, all duplicate measurement/meterreading/locmeterreadings (based on asset or location, metername and measuredate/readingdate) are logged. When this value is set to true, this logging is disabled. The default value for this property is false. Disabling this parameter can speed up script execution if needed. 6. IV71994SKIPFIXLOG: When this parameter is set to false, all duplicate fixes are logged. Set to true to disable this logging. The default value for this parameter is false. Disabling this parameter can speed up script execution if needed. 7. IV71994SKIPUPDLOG: When this parameter is set to false, all assetmeter/locationmeter LASTREADING/LASTREADINGDATE updates are logged. Set to '1' to disable this logging. The default value for this parameter is false. Disabling this parameter can speed up script execution if needed. |
Property | IV74220 | 179357 | A new property, webclient.richtext.discardTags, was added. This property is a comma delimited list of html tags that are discarded from rich text fields. By default, the following tags are discarded: script, object, embed, and iframe. |
Property | IV73918 | 177566 | A new property, mxe.webclient.proxyLoginStringCheck, was added that specifies a certain string in the response that is used to indicate a redirect to the WebSEAL login page. The default value is "pkmslogin". |
Property | IV73278 | 174648 | A new system property, mxe.crontask.runonschedule, was added. When the property is set to 0, missed scheduled cron tasks are run immediately and then at the next scheduled time. When the property is set to 1, missed scheduled cron tasks are not run until the next scheduled time. |
User Interface | IV73923 | 177563 | Time zone characters can now be used in the setting.DISPLAYTIME and setting.PARSETIME properties. The time zone character must be placed at the end of the format, for example, HH:MM:SS Z. The valid time zone characters are as follows: z - General time zone; Z - RFC 822 time zone; X - ISO 8601 time zone. All time zones are converted to the clients local time zone. |
User Interface | IV70473 | 165539 | In communication templates, when the mxe.baseCalendar property is set to Islamic, Maximo displays an Islamic date format instead of Gregorian date format. |
User Interface | IV72581 | 171538 | A new property, ALWAYSREFRESH, was added to table details to support type-ahead filter domain fields in the table details section. To activate this property, add alwaysrefresh=true to table details. |
User Interface | IV73886 | 177796 | Field validation on a company branch now prevents you from adding the current company as a branch of itself. |
Type | APAR | Issue | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Database | IV66182 | 152150 | A new variable, GLSETDATEFP, was added. |
Database | IV67434 | 156371 | A new script, V7601_06.dbc, was added to modify the relationship between purchase orders for INVOICE objects. |
Database | IV68166 | 158047 | Duplicate entries in the REPORTAPPAUTH table for CUSTOM type were removed. |
Database | IV68527 | 159104 | There are a number of database changes to resolve
this issue: - There are 3 changes for the MASTERPM.INITIALREADING
object: 1. The MAXATTRIBUTE.ISPOSITIVE value is changed 0 - 1 (false to true) 2. The MAXATTRIBUTE.SAMEASOBJECT and MAXATTRIBUTE.SAMEASATTRIBUTE values changed. Previous: MAXATTRIBUTE.SAMEASOBJECT = null MAXATTRIBUTE.SAMEASATTRIBUTE =null. Now: MAXATTRIBUTE.SAMEASOBJECT = METERREADING MAXATTRIBUTE.SAMEASATTRIBUTE =READING 3. The MAXATTRIBUTE.MUSTBE value is set to 1 (true) - There is 1 change for the PMMETER.READINGATNEXTWO object:1. The MAXATTRIBUTE.ISPOSITIVE value is changed 0 - 1 (false to true) |
Database | IV69910 | 164781 | A new script, V7601_31.dbc, was added. There were updates to the MULTIASSETLOCCI and the MULTIASSETLOCCIPR tables; the following attributes are now non-localizable: MULTIASSETLOCCI.RECORDCLASS, MULTIASSETLOCCI.STARTOFFSETUNITID, MULTIASSETLOCCI.STARTMEASUREUNITID, MULTIASSETLOCCI.ENDOFFSETUNITID, MULTIASSETLOCCI.ENDMEASUREUNITID, MULTIASSETLOCCI.BASEMEASUREUNITID, MULTIASSETLOCCIPR.STARTOFFSETUNITID, MULTIASSETLOCCIPR.STARTMEASUREUNITID, MULTIASSETLOCCIPR.ENDOFFSETUNITID, MULTIASSETLOCCIPR.ENDMEASUREUNITID, and MULTIASSETLOCCIPR.BASEMEASUREUNITID. There were also two links added to the maxdynamicdomlink table to address an issue with a MULTIASSETLOCCI.RECORDCLASS attribute that had a combination of the WOCLASS and TKCLASS domains. |
Database | IV70747 | 166144 | In the V7601_34.dbc script, the DMREPORT object
structure was fixed. Four records in the maxintobjdetail table now
have the correct hierarchy path: Maxintobjdetail set hierarchypath = 'REPORT/REPORTLABEL' where intobjectname = 'DMREPORT' and objectname = 'REPORTLABEL' Maxintobjdetail set hierarchypath = 'REPORT/REPORTAUTH' where intobjectname = 'DMREPORT' and objectname = 'REPORTAUTH' Maxintobjdetail set hierarchypath = 'REPORT/REPORTAPPAUTH' where intobjectname = 'DMREPORT' and objectname = 'REPORTAPPAUTH' Maxintobjdetail set hierarchypath = 'REPORT/REPORTSCHED' where intobjectname = 'DMREPORT' and objectname = 'REPORTSCHED' |
Database | IV70853 | 166544 | The MAXINTOBJAPP.PRIMARYOBJECT object structure is now nonrestricted for the DMMAXINTOBJECT object. |
Functionality | IV65156 | 149249 | The format of grouped by labor was changed. This change coincides with the fix to calculate hours and cost across all pay codes and crafts for a specific labor. |
Functionality | IV68202 | 158357 | Request page generation now behaves differently in multi-language environments. In the Report Administration application, the Generate Request Pages button on the List tab and the Generate Request Page button on the Report tab now generate the presentation XML for all reports if the system is configured to use more than one language. |
Functionality | IV71258 | 167536 | Under APAR IV41872, report execution behavior was changed to open a separate viewer window for each report. This behavior is incorrect because only 1 active report is allowed per session. The original behavior of 1 concurrent report viewer window is now restored. |
Functionality | IV72023 | 170163 | Meter-based preventive maintenance records that do not use the target start date uses the last reading date as the basis for determining the next due date if the last reading date is more recent than last work order completion date. This adjustment changes the way that this function was originally designed, however, the original design was not correct. |
Functionality, User Interface |
IV65532 | 150749 | In the Assets application, asset status records are now written to the PLUSCASSETSTATUS table and the View Asset Status History dialog is accessible for both calibration and non-calibration assets. Previously, this function was only supported for calibration assets. |
Functionality, User Interface |
IV66792 | 154954 | After the fix is applied, the option to create an ad hoc report outside of an application is no longer available. Furthermore, the Create Report button only appears on the Reports dialog box when you view reports for the current application. |
Property | IV66941 | 154943 | A new property, mxe.system.IntegerQBEsearchCommaAsOr, was added. |
Property | IV68097 | 158058 | A new property, mxe.db.defaultLexer, was added to set the default Oracle lexer for text searches. This property is set to global_lexer by default. |
User Interface | IV66446 | 152972 | The Job Plan View Status History dialog box ID changed from VIEWHIST to VIEWHISTOR. |
User Interface | IV69465 | 163154 | The Resource Hours and Availability graph now displays values as summed or stacked instead of superimposed. |
