This fix can be installed on IBM WebSphere Premises Server version 6.1.0.1 with Location Awareness Services for WebSphere Premises Server 6.1.0.2. 2.0 INCLUDED IN THIS INTERIM FIX -------------------------------- This update for Location Awareness Services for WebSphere Premises Server V6.1.0.2 provides real time location system (RTLS) adapter support. 3.0 INSTALLATION ----------------- 3.1 Prerequisites o It is assumed that WebSphere Premises Server 6.1.0.1 and Location Awareness Services for WebSphere Premises Server 6.1.0.2 are already installed. 3.2 Installation Procedure You can install the adapter framework on the same server with your WebSphere Premises Server or on a separate server. 3.2.1 Same server installation Use these steps to install the update on the same server with WebSphere Premises Server: 1. Unpack the IC59160.zip file. The extracted contents create a client\AdapterFramework directory. 2. Copy the "client" subdirectory and all of the contained files and subdirectories to the directory, which is the installation directory for WebSphere Premises Server. For example: C:\Program Files\IBM\RFID When you are done, the "client" subdirectory should be located within the directory. 3.2.2 Separate server installation Use these steps to install the adapter framework on a different server, where WebSphere Premises Server, WebSphere Application Server, and WebSphere MQ are not installed. 1. Make sure that you have the Java 1.5 runtime installed on the target server for the adapter framework. 2. Set up an environment variable for %IBM_RFID_HOME%, such as C:\Program Files\IBM\RFID. 3. Unpack the IC59160.zip file to %IBM_RFID_HOME%. The extracted contents create a client\AdapterFramework directory below this path. 4. Copy all API JAR files from the %IBM_RFID_HOME%\premises\api\lib\ path on the server where WebSphere Premises Server is installed to a %IBM_RFID_HOME%\premises\api\lib path on the desired server for the adapter framework. 5. Set up an environment variable for %WAS_HOME%, such as C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer. 6. Copy the %WAS_HOME%\plugins\com.ibm.ws.emf_2.1.0.jar file on the server where WebSphere Application Server is installed to a %WAS_HOME%\plugins path on the desired server for the adapter framework. 7. Copy the %WAS_HOME%\runtimes\com.ibm.ws.webservices.thinclient_6.1.0.jar on the server where WebSphere Application Server is installed to a %WAS_HOME%\runtimes path on the desired server for the adapter framework. 8. Set up an environment variable for %MQ_HOME%, such as C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ. 9. Copy all WebSphere MQ API JAR libraries from the %MQ_JAVA_LIB_PATH% directory, such as C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Java\lib, on the server where WebSphere MQ is installed to the %MQ_HOME%\Java\lib\ directory on the desired server for the adapter framework. 10. Add the MQ API JAR files to the environment variable. CLASSPATH=%MQ_HOME%\Java\lib\providerutil.jar; %MQ_HOME%\Java\lib\com.ibm.mqjms.jar; %MQ_HOME%\Java\lib\ldap.jar; %MQ_HOME%\Java\lib\jta.jar; %MQ_HOME%\Java\lib\jndi.jar; %MQ_HOME%\Java\lib\jms.jar; %MQ_HOME%\Java\lib\connector.jar; %MQ_HOME%\Java\lib\fscontext.jar; %MQ_HOME%\Java\lib\com.ibm.mq.jar;%CLASSPATH% 11. The adapter framework is now fully installed. 4.0 UNINSTALLATION ------------------- To remove this fix, delete the client\AdapterFramework directory. 5.0 TRADEMARKS ---------------- IBM and WebSphere are registered trademarks of International Business Machines Corporation in the United States, other countries, or both.
