Description/symptom of problem: PM29734 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: The descriptor XML file that the centralized installation manager uses when installing a fix pack is not included in WebSphere Virtual Enterprise Version 6.1.1.3. LOCAL FIX: Manually providing and inserting the missing XML file. PROBLEM SUMMARY: USERS AFFECTED: Users of WebSphere Virtual Enterprise Version 6.1.1 and WebSphere Extended Deployment Compute Grid Version 6.1.1 who are using the centralized installation manager to install Fix Pack 3 PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The centralized installation manager descriptor XML file is missing in WebSphere Virtual Enterprise Version 6.1.1.3. RECOMMENDATION: Install APAR PM29734 to place the descriptor XML file in the correct location, and then use the centralized installation manager to install Version 6.1.1 Fix Pack 3. The centralized installation manager cannot be used to install Version 6.1.1 Fix Pack 3, because the descriptor XML file is missing. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: This APAR provides the descriptor XML file that is needed to use the centralized installation manager to install Version 6.1.1 Fix Pack 3. This fix will be included in the next available fix pack for WebSphere Virtual Enterprise.
