Instructions for installing PTF 5.0.0.2

This PTF contains the fix level of WebSphere Translation Server for Windows, Linux and AIX:

    Version 5.0         5.0.0.2

1. English to Spanish (enes) language upgrade packages.

2. Spanish to English (esen) language upgrade packages.

3. (Windows Only) Both of the two packages above include WebSphere Translation Server support for Windows 2008.

4. Both of the two packages above contains Java 6 supported upgrading of WebSphere Translation Server.

Before installing this PTF, please backup the whole image of WTS installed, although this PTF will also backup the files updated. 

Install Guide:

1. Ensure JVM 1.4 or later is installed.

2. Stop WTS and close WTS console.

3. Create an empty folder.(e.g. c:\ptf)

4. Copy install.jar and language packages (e.g. ptf_enbp.jar) to the folder created.
    i) For Windows, Copy install.bat and uninstall.bat to the folder of install.jar
   ii) For AIX & Linux, Copy install.sh and uninstall.sh to the folder of install.jar

5. Run install.bat for Windows or install.sh for AIX & Linux.


Uninstall Guide:

1. Ensure JVM 1.4 or later is installed.

2. Stop WTS and close WTS console.

3. Run uninstall.bat for Windows or uninstall.sh for AIX & Linux.

4. The console will require language package name input, just input language pair name, such as enbp, cnen, jpen...
   The language pair name list:
	bpen  cnen  deen  enbp  encn  ende  enes  jpen  kren
	enfr  enit  enjp  enkr  entw  esen  fren  iten  twen
   
   In this PTF, only enes for English to Spanish & esen for Spanish to English can be used.

5. Press Enter to execute uninstallation.

6. Backup Instructions:
   The install.jar will backup current language binary before refreshing, the folder "fpbackup" can be found in the installed path of WTS after installation of this PTF, the backup files are in the sub folder "fp-5001" of folder "fpbackup".
   There is also a backup of uninstall.bat(sh) and install.jar in the folder "fp5002".


Notice

1. Please ensure JVM 1.4 or later version is installed and the configuration of the JVM path is ready, so that install.jar can run without exception.

2. For installation, please keep install.jar and language packages in the same folder. If there are more than one language packages, install.jar will install them all automatically.


Trouble Shooting

1. If on AIX, exception "Cannot open or remove a file contains a running program" is displayed while installing this PTF, please use shell command "slibclean" to clear the memory to release the files, and reinstall this PTF.
