This readme provides information about the patch available in this interim fix.

This fix can be installed on WebSphere Sensor Events 7.0.

Included in this interim fix

The following reported program defects are fixed in this update:

• IC75050: Asset Visibility Client improvements (basic clustering, tag details images, sounds) and fixes (search).

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for Microsoft Windows^® operating systems

• You must have Administrator access to update the WebSphere Sensor Events server.
• It is assumed that the WebSphere Sensor Events server is already installed.

Prerequisites for Linux^® and AIX^® operating systems

• You must have root access to update the WebSphere Sensor Events server.
• It is assumed that the WebSphere Sensor Events server is already installed.

Installation

Installation procedure for Microsoft Windows operating systems

1. Create a folder named maintenance in the WebSphere Sensor Events server C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE directory.
2. Unpack the .zip file, IC75050.zip, to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance directory. The .zip file contains these files:
   • IC75050\IBM_WSE_Engine.ear
   • IC75050\IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear
   • IC75050\IBM_WSE_Runtime.ear
   • IC75050\WSE70WBELocationProject.xml
   • IC75050\wseClient.jar
   • IC75050\sounds\alert.wav
   • IC75050\smc.css
   • IC75050\ppls.png
   • IC75050\IC75050-readme.html
   • IC75050\WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IC75050.fxtag
3. Create a folder named backup in the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC75050 directory.
4. Back up the existing IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear, IBM_WSE_Engine.ear, and IBM_WSE_Runtime.ear to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC75050\backup directory as described in the technote, Updating EAR files for WebSphere Sensor Events.
5. Apply this update to IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear, IBM_WSE_Engine.ear, and IBM_WSE_Runtime.ear as described in the technote, Updating EAR files for WebSphere Sensor Events.
6. Modify SystemAgent configuration:
   • Log on to WSE Admin Console
   • Navigate to Data Capture Configuration -> Agent Configuration -> SystemAgent
   • Click Add new Properties
   • Set the following values:
     • Name: rtls.tag.log.history
     • Value: true
   • Click Update PID
   • Click Update
7. Create SI-Bus Queue:
   • Log on to WAS Admin Console
   • Navigate to Resources -> JMS -> Queues
   • Set the Scope to Node=WSENode, Server=server1 if it is not already.
   • Click New
   • Select Default messaging provider
   • Set the following values:
     • Name: rtal.persistence.bus.q
     • JNDI: jms/ibmse.rtal.persistence.bus.q
     • Bus Name: ibmsensorevent
     • Queue name: Create Service Bus Integration destination
       • Name: rtal.persistence.bus.q
       • Assign the queue to a bus member: Node=WSENode, Server=server1
   • Click OK
   • Click Save
8. Create a new activation specification:
   • Log on to WAS Admin Console
   • Navigate to Resources -> JMS -> Activation Specifications
   • Set the Scope to Node=WSENode, Server=server1 if it is not already.
   • Click New
   • Select Default messaging provider
   • Set the following values for the new configuration:
     • Name: ibmse.rtls.tag.history.db.as
     • JNDI: eis/ibmse.rtls.tag.history.db.as
     • Destination Type: Queue
     • Destination JNDI Name: jms/ibmse.rtal.persistence.bus.q
     • Message Selector: ibmse LIKE 'report/asset/observation/location/tag/history/%' OR ibmse LIKE 'report/asset/observation/location/tag2zone/history/%'
     • Bus Name: ibmsensorevent
   • Click OK
   • Click Save
9. Create a new cache instance:
   • Log on to WAS Admin Console
   • Navigate to Resources -> Cache instances -> Object cache instances
   • Set the Scope to Node=WSENode, Server=server1 if it is not already.
   • Click New
   • Set the following values:
     • Name: cache.rtls
     • JNDI Name: cache/rtls
   • Click OK
   • Click Save
10. Create a new class loader:
    • Log on to WAS Admin Console
    • Navigate to Servers -> Server types -> WebSphere Application Servers
    • Click server1
    • Navigate to Java and process Management -> Class loaders
    • Create a new class loader with the option Classes loaded with parent class loader first
    • Click on the new class loader, select Shared library references and add WSEClient
    • Click OK
    • Click Save
11. Stop the WSE server.
12. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\lib directory and copy the wseClinet.jar file to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC75050\backup directory.
13. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC75050 directory and copy the wseClinet.jar file to C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\lib
14. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC75050 directory and copy the sounds directory to C:\Program Files\IBM\HTTPServer\htdocs\IBM\WSE\AssetVisibilityClient\
15. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC75050 directory and copy the ppls.png file to C:\Program Files\IBM\HTTPServer\htdocs\IBM\WSE\AssetVisibilityClient\images\
16. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\IBM\HTTPServer\htdocs\IBM\WSE\AssetVisibilityClient\stylesheets\ directory and copy the smc.css file to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC75050\backup directory.
17. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC75050 directory and copy the smc.css file to C:\Program Files\IBM\HTTPServer\htdocs\IBM\WSE\AssetVisibilityClient\stylesheets\
18. Start the WSE server.
19. Re-deploy the WBE Rules and restart the WBE server.
20. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC75050 and copy the WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IC75050.fxtag file to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\properties\version directory.

Installation procedure for Linux and AIX operating systems

1. Create a folder named maintenance in the WebSphere Sensor Events server /opt/IBM/WSE directory.
2. Unpack the .zip file, IC75050.zip, to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance directory. The .zip file contains these files:

3. Create a folder named backup in the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC75050 directory.

   • Click New
   • Set the following values:
     • Name: cache.rtls

   • Click Save
10. Create a new class loader:
    • Log on to WAS Admin Console
    • Navigate to Servers -> Server types -> WebSphere Application Servers
    • Click server1
    • Navigate to Java and process Management -> Class loaders
    • Create a new class loader with the option Classes loaded with parent class loader first
    • Click on the new class loader, select Shared library references and add WSEClient
    • Click OK
    • Click Save
11. Stop the WSE server.
12. Navigate to the /opt/IBM/WSE/lib directory and copy the wseClinet.jar file to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC75050/backup directory.
13. Navigate to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC75050 directory and copy the wseClinet.jar file to /opt/IBM/WSE/lib
14. Navigate to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC75050 directory and copy the sounds directory to /opt/IBM/HTTPServer/htdocs/IBM/WSE/AssetVisibilityClient/
15. Navigate to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC75050 directory and copy the ppls.png file to /opt/IBM/HTTPServer/htdocs/IBM/WSE/AssetVisibilityClient/images/
16. Navigate to the /opt/IBM/HTTPServer/htdocs/IBM/WSE/AssetVisibilityClient/stylesheets/ directory and copy the smc.css file to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC75050/backup directory.
17. Navigate to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC75050 directory and copy the smc.css file to /opt/IBM/HTTPServer/htdocs/IBM/WSE/AssetVisibilityClient/stylesheets/
18. Start the WSE server.
19. Re-deploy the WBE Rules and restart the WBE server.
20. Navigate to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC75050 and copy the WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IC75050.fxtag file to the /opt/IBM/WSE/properties/version directory.

Installation procedure for WebSphere Sensor Events Toolkit

1. Follow the Windows install instructions above.

Uninstallation

Uninstallation procedure for Microsoft Windows operating systems

1. Reinstall the backup IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear, IBM_WSE_Engine.ear, and IBM_WSE_Runtime.ear files as described in the technote, Updating EAR files for WebSphere Sensor Events.
2. Copy the backup wseClinet.jar file to C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\lib
3. Copy the backup smc.css file to C:\Program Files\IBM\HTTPServer\htdocs\IBM\WSE\AssetVisibilityClient\stylesheets\
4. Delete the sounds directory and images/ppls.png file from C:\Program Files\IBM\HTTPServer\htdocs\IBM\WSE\AssetVisibilityClient\
5. Undo the configuration changes made in the WSE and WAS admin consoles and re-deploy the origional WBE rules
6. Delete the WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IC75050.fxtag file from the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\properties\version directory.
7. Restart WebSphere Application Server.

Uninstallation procedure for Linux and AIX operating systems

1. Reinstall the backup IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear, IBM_WSE_Engine.ear, and IBM_WSE_Runtime.ear files as described in the technote, Updating EAR files for WebSphere Sensor Events.
