Description/symptom of problem: PM43723 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: After deploying multiple editions of an application where each edition is deployed to a different cluster, the edition that is deployed last may be marked as inactive LOCAL FIX: WOrk around is to restart the JVMs of the servers where the application has been deployed and marked inactive. PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: All WebSphere Virtual Enterprise Application Edition users PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The second installed edition of an application does not start after the target server is restarted. RECOMMENDATION: None When WebSphere Virtual Enterprise is installed on WebSphere Application Server version 6.1, the second installed edition of an application starts after the target server restarts. However, in WebSphere Application Server version 7.0 and later, the second installed edition does not start after the target server is restarted. This inconsistent behavior between releases is also true for any edition of an application installed after the base edition. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: Changes were made so that any edition of application is put into ACTIVE state if it is installed on a target (server, cluster, etc) that does not have any other active editions of the application. This fix will be included in the next available fix pack for WebSphere Virtual Enterprise.
