Prerequisites and co-requisites

Before downloading this fix pack, perform the following steps:

  1. Ensure that your current installation of JRules is Version 7.1.1 with fix pack 4
    This action prevents technical problems that might occur after the installation and configuration of the interim fix.

Prior to installation

Before installing this interim fix perform the following steps:

  1. Download the interim fix to an appropriate location
  2. Uncompress the interim fix

Downloading the interim fix to an appropriate location

Note the location of the downloaded file 7.1.1.4-WS-R4C-IFRS00894.zip, this file can be deleted after installation.

Uncompressing the interim fix installation image

This interim fix installation is compressed using zip.
Extract the interim fix installation image in the folder [jrules-home]/rulesforcobol.
A folder IFRS00894 should be created.

Installing

To install the interim fix on Windows:

  1. Open a DOS command window
  2. Change folder to [jrules-home]\rulesforcobol\IFRS00894
  3. Run the command :..\..\shared\tools\ant\bin\ant

To install the interim fix on Unix/Linux:

  1. In a shell
  2. Change folder to [jrules-home]/rulesforcobol/IFRS00894
  3. Run the command :../../shared/tools/ant/bin/ant

Perform the necessary tasks after installation

The Rule Studio must be started with the option -clean in order to refresh the plugins cache.

Note:

After you have started Rule Studio once with this option you should remove this flag for a faster start.

If you are using Rule Studio installed in another IBM Eclipse product you must update the plugin in this installation. Copy the plugin ilog.rules.extension.cobol_7.1.1.4 from rulesforcobol/eclipse/plugins to your installation.

If you are using Rule Team Server with Rules for COBOL deploy the newly generated Rule Team Server application from [jrules-home]/rulesforcobol/applicationservers.

Uninstalling if necessary

After applying this Interim Fix, you can go back to the original fix pack level 3 by following this steps:

To uninstall the interim fix on Windows:

  1. Open a DOS command window
  2. Change folder to [jrules-home]\rulesforcobol\IFRS00894
  3. Run the command :..\..\shared\tools\ant\bin\ant uninstall

To uninstall the interim fix on Unix/Linux:

  1. In a shell
  2. Change folder to [jrules-home]/rulesforcobol/IFRS00894
  3. Run the command :../../shared/tools/ant/bin/ant uninstall
