About this readme file

This readme provides information about the patch available in this interim fix.

This fix provides a version of the RTAL Maximo Adapter installer that can be used against a Maximo servers from 7.1.1.7 to 7.5 version. The Interim Fix contains the installer for Windows, Linux or AIX Operating Systems

Prerequisites

Installation

Installation procedure for Microsoft Windows operating systems

1. Create a folder temporary folder in the local drive of your Websphere Sensor Event 7 server.
2. Unpack the .zip file, IC91948.zip, to the C:\temp directory. The .zip file contains these files and folders:
   • IC91948\rtal_adapter\AIX
   • IC91948\IC91948\rtal_adapter\Linux
   • IC91948\rtal_adapter\Windows
   • IC91948\IC91948-readme.html
   • IC91948\WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IC91948.fxtag
3. Navigate to the \IC91948\rtal_adapter\Windows\Disk1\InstData\NoVM folder and start the RTAL Maximo Adapter, follow the on screen instructions.
4. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC91948 and copy the WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IC91948.fxtag file to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\properties\version directory.

Installation

Installation procedure for Linux operating systems

1. Create a folder named maintenance in the WebSphere Sensor Events server /opt/IBM/WSE directory.
2. Unpack the .zip file, IC91948.zip, to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance directory. The .zip file contains these files:
   • IC91948\rtal_adapter\AIX
   • IC91948\IC91948\rtal_adapter\Linux
   • IC91948\rtal_adapter\Windows
   • IC91948\IC91948-readme.html
   • IC91948\WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IC91948.fxtag
3. Navigate to the \IC91948\rtal_adapter\Linux\Disk1\InstData\NoVM folder and start the RTAL Maximo Adapter, follow the on screen instructions.
4. Navigate to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC91948 and copy the WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IC91948.fxtag file to the /opt/IBM/WSE/properties/version directory.

Installation

1. Create a folder named maintenance in the WebSphere Sensor Events server /opt/IBM/WSE directory.

   • IC91948\WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IC91948.fxtag
3. Navigate to the \IC91948\rtal_adapter\AIX\Disk1\InstData\NoVM folder and start the RTAL Maximo Adapter, follow the on screen instructions.
4. Navigate to the /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC91948 and copy the WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IC91948.fxtag file to the /opt/IBM/WSE/properties/version directory.

Uninstallation

Uninstallation procedure for All operating systems

1. Uninstall the WebSphere Sensor Events 7.0 server as described in the information center topic, uninstall IBM® Maximo® Adapter for Real-time Asset Locator.
