About this readme file

This readme provides information about the patch available in this interim fix.

This fix provides a a new version of the WSE logger classes in order to increase the information of the Java error stack when an error is thrown

Included in this interim fix

The following reported program defects are fixed in this update:

• IC92562: The previous version of the WSE base logger class, is omitting the print of the Java stacktrace. In this fix a new version of the wseClient.jar library has been released, which includes the code change in order to print the Java stacktrace in the WSE log files

Prerequisites

1. You must have Administrator access to update WebSphere Sensor Events server and Data Capture device.
2. It is assumed that WebSphere Sensor Events server and Data Capture are already installed.

Installation

Installation procedure:

1. Unpack the zip file, IC92562.zip, to directory C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\. The zip file contains the files:
   • wseClient.jar
   • IC92562-readme.html
   • SNSREVTS-7.0-MULTI-IC92562.fxtag
2. Stop the WSE server.
• On Windows, navigate to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\lib directory and copy the wseClient.jar file to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC85784\backup directory. Copy then the new wseClient.jar in C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\lib.
• On Linux, navigate to the /opt/IBM/WSE/lib directory and copy the wseClient.jar file in /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC85784/backup, copy the new wseClient.jar from /opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC85784 in /opt/IBM/WSE/lib
3. Start the WSE server.
4. Copy the SNSREVTS-7.0-MULTI-IC92562.fxtag file to this folder: C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\properties\version\

Uninstallation

Uninstallation procedure

1. Stop the WSE server.
• On Windows, navigate to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\maintenance\IC85784\backup directory and copy the wseClient.jar file to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WSE\lib directory.
• On Linux, navigate to the opt/IBM/WSE/maintenance/IC85784/backupb directory and copy the wseClient.jar file to /opt/IBM/WSE/lib
2. Start the WSE server.
