Description/symptom of problem: PI45266 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: WebSphere Application Server could allow an HTTP response splitting attack. LOCAL FIX: N/A PROBLEM SUMMARY: WebSphere Application Server is vulnerable to HTTP response splitting attacks. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using specially-crafted URL to cause the server to return a split response, once the URL is clicked. This would allow the attacker to perform further attacks, such as Web cache poisoning, cross-site scripting, and possibly obtain sensitive information. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: An update was made to prevent the vulnerability. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.39, 8.0.0.12 and 8.5.5.8.
